I doubt if your son will get a good NIT with these marks. In case he does't get a good college on the basis of this rank, then he can opt for some of the good private universities like LPU, SRM, VIT, etc., offering various specializations in B.Tech. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Computer Science Engineering cut off marks will vary college to college, so check the respective college cut off you are looking for. Also, there are number of rounds of counselling and cut off varies year-on-year.
