As per the official website :
To be eligible for JEE Mains, one needs to fulfill the criteria mentioned below.
* A candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in 2013 may also appear in JEE MAIN 2013 provisionally.
* Candidates who are aspirants for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs , IITs and ISM Dhanbad, for one or more than one of them, must confirm to the eligibility criteria of the relevant institutions.
* Candidates are allowed maximum of 3 consecutive attempts.
* Candidates who passed +2 exam in 2011 or 2012 or appearing in +2 in 2013 are only eligible to appear.
The relevant qualifying examinations are :
- The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
- Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
- Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
- H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
- A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
- 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Hi Gunjan,
As far as I know, to get admission in B. Arch in IIT - Kharagpur you have to clear JEE advanced first and then clear the B. Arch paper conducted after the results are out and not through NATA.
IIT Roorkee offers admission on the basis of Architecture Aptitude Test. Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2015 is an architecture entrance exam for admission into IITs into the 5 years undergraduate B.Arch Course.
Eligibility for Architecture Aptitude Test: Only those candidates who would have given B. Arch program (available at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee) as one of their choices while filling their choices online will be eligible to write AAT. Moreover you have to clear JEE Advanced also. To Appear in JEE Advanced you should have cleared JEE Main paper 1.

Hi Manisha,
I would recommend joining a good coaching institute so you remain motivated and you are able to gauge where you stand with regards to the competition plus they will keep you on your toes throughout the year. So definitely complete the coaching material , DPP's , go through their quizzes and you will be close to done
Before attending the lesson however i would recommend reading and completely solving ncert and ncert exemplar for that paticular portion which will be taught. Ncert is the bible when it comes to competitive exams.
Futhermore if you have time the following books are recommended:
Physics:- HC Verma part1 and 2 (must do)
-Resnick halliday (only if you have time after completing coaching material)
Maths:- Do RD Sharma/RS aggarwal immediately after ncert it will futher help in reiterating the basics. After that i would recommend:
-calculus: I.A Maron
-Trignometry and Co-ordinate Geometry: If time is not a constraint then SL Loney is the best but as it takes a long long time to complete i would recommend TMH
-Algebra: Hall & Knight if you want to go really in depth otherwise TMH for practice would suffice. People do recommend the Arihant series but personally i hate them.
Chemistry:- First and foremost go through ncert i can't stress the importance of this enough paticularly for chemistry where you can get questions directly from ncert or exemplar.After that for further practice and/or conceptual understanding please refer to the following:
Physical:Atkins, RC mukherjee
Organic: Solomon's & Fryhle's Organic Chemistry for JEE (MS Chouhan version)
Inorganic: J.D Lee
In the final 2months of your preparation purchase and solve the past year papers. (most important)

Yes, Arihant along with Aakash study material are a good set of questions. Also, you must read the newly released Pradeep's encyclopedia for JEE Mains and Advanced. It was just released last year. Although, I initially looked the book with scepticism on being recommended that book add the Publisher was only famous for school level books before this book arrived, I later found out that this book is the best written book I have every read. The theory is extremely well presented and all the questions are solved . I got a rank less than 300 primarily because of they book. You can try Arihant' s book for maths by SK Goyal.

Preparation Strategy for IIT- JEE (Main):IIT-JEE (Main) syllabus
The syllabus of JEE main is the syllabus followed by CBSE board. In fact, the JEE Main syllabus can be considered a replica of what was covered in previously held AIEEE exam. All the topics of JEE Main are covered in NCERT books.
Different sections in IIT-JEE (Main) exam
Since the JEE main is being conducted by the CBSE, the same body that was conducting the AIEEE earlier, it is expected that the similar pattern shall continue in JEE Main as well. In AIEEE, the paper was not divided into sections. But the questions that were asked in the AIEEE were of three types:
Straight objective type multiple choice questions
Linked comprehension type questions
Assertion-Reason type questions
Generally there are 5 Assertion-Reason Type questions, and 25 multiple choice questions including the linked comprehension type questions.
General preparation strategy
The JEE Main paper is a race against time. It is important to optimise your performance by practicing a good number of MCQs. There are 90 questions in all to be done in 3 hours duration. That means one must be able to solve some other questions in lesser time so as to manage the time well.
Most important topics for JEE (Main)
Physics: understanding of Kinematics and Dynamics is very essential to be able to build a strong problem solving ability. Also, the Theory of Fields (Electromagnetism) is very important and a large number of problems are asked from it.
Chemistry: Physical Chemistry is very scoring and all the units in it must be done carefully. Students tend to neglect Inorganic Chemistry but if studied in a proper way, it becomes very scoring.
Mathematics: Calculus is very important to learn as it finds applications in all domains. Other important and scoring topics are Determinants, Sequences, Permutation and Combination. The student must be able to relate the complex numbers with Coordinate Geometry and Vectors. Three dimensional geometry is easy and scoring if done properly.

* For Students who Passed Their Class XII Board Exam in 2013 :
The eligibility criteria for joining any of the IITs or ISM Dhanbad will be 60% marks in their 12th Board or equivalent (55% for SC/ST/PD candidates).
* For Students Who Passed their Class XII Board Exam in 2013 but are reappearing the Boards in 2014 to improve their performance:
1.60% rule will apply if they use their 2013 Board exam results
2.Top 20 percentile' rule will apply if they use their 2014 Board exam results.
This will be a one-time exception for JEE (Advanced) 2014 only.
* For Students Who give their Class XII Board Exams for First Time in 2014 :
