With a JEE Main 2026 percentile of 81.40 and SC category rank of 2,91,970, admission to top NITs like Surathkal, Trichy, Warangal, Allahabad, Jaipur, Calicut is not possible. Their SC cutoffs for even lower branches usually close around 20,000–40,000 rank.
NIT Admission Chances (SC Category)
- Top NITs (Surathkal, Trichy, Warangal, Allahabad, Jaipur, Calicut):
- CSE/ECE/IT close around SC rank 2,000–5,000.
- Civil/Mechanical close around SC rank 10,000–20,000.
- Your rank (2.9 lakh) is far beyond these cutoffs.
- Newer NITs (Arunachal, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Srinagar, Agartala):
- Even here, SC cutoffs close around 40,000–60,000.
- At 2.9

NIT Puducherry BTech admissions are highly unlikely with 75 percentile in JEE Main, especially for the General category. The institute sees a high cutoff for BTech's All India Quota. With 75 percentile, admission may be possible for reserved categories. Students can check the last year cutoff to know more.

Yes, students have a decent chance of getting admission in RGPV Bhopal with 80 percentile in JEE Main through DTE MP counselling. However, to get admission in top branches, such as CSE, this may not be enough. Students can check the past year cutoffs to know more.
