You must prepare for JEE, getting a good score in JEE will opens opportunities to join IITs, NITs ans IIITs which have a good name in the field of research. In India IITs have good facilities for research and development. Even if you are not able to make to IITs or NITs, complete your Bachelors in Engineering and have a depth knowledge of subjects of your interest and than go for M.Tech from IITs through GATE or M.Tech in Department of Aromic Energy througb BARC. You will be better prepared for research after your graduation.

Hello,
I hope you are doing well. There will not be any effect on placement if you opt JEE for 3rd time in a row without taking drop. But if you are taking drop for 3 times in a row, then you will be lacking from thousand of graduates who are graduating very year. Go for counselling and get some colleges and compete with the world, It doesn't matter whether your marks well or not in JEE. It will depend on how to perform in your academics.
All the best.

No, YMCA University takes admissions only by shortlisting students on the basis of their rank in the JEE exam. If you haven't given JEE exam then you aren't qualified to even apply for this university as in the application form itself they will ask you about your marks and rank in the exam and failing to provide the same wont let you complete the form for submission.

PSG does not accept any JEE ranking. Admission to PSG college is only through single window counseling by Anna University Chennai. This counselling will be based on ranking that is provided to you on the basis of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th standard examination held by Tamil Nadu state board. For student outside TN Anna University counselling has an other state quota and students can apply through it and join PSG college.

Yes, if you take a drop this year then you can give both your improvement exam as well as JEE exam again the next year. Since this year, you have qualified for the advance but you can't give it because you don't have 75% in boards. I would personally recommend you to take a drop as this board percentage will always hinder your chances.
