If you target for a good NIT, then you have to score more than 95 percentile or less than 30,000 rank.

You need to clear your compartment in chemistry first. Without clearing your compartment, you cannot get admission in any colleges. So, apply for the compartment. Best of luck.

Even if you get a good rank in JEE Mains 2018, you can't get in NITs and IITs as 75% criteria for admission is there, but you can get admission in DTU or NSIT.
