KVG College of Engineering allows direct admission through management quota, which is 20-25% of total seats. Those who have completed their 10+2 with at least 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics would be eligible for direct admission. The admission activities commence in May and last till August. About 15-20% of the seats are for non-Karnataka students while 80-85% of them are for district students. There is also a provision of around 5-10% tuition fee concession for meritorious admission under direct scheme cases.

Meritorious students at KVG College of Engineering can have access to several scholarships offered by the institution, although no guarantee is given for 100% scholarship. Scholarships of 25% to 90% in terms of tuition fees are, however, available for students who are good in academics. Around 10-15% of students receive a 50% scholarship while 5-10% of students can receive a grant amount of 75%. The other scholarships include a 100% waiver of tuition fees for students ranked within the top 1000 in either of the KCET or COMEDK UGET entrance exams. Students coming from economically backward groups also enjoy the government scholarships.

With regard to KVG College of Engineering, it is possible to be admitted for either of its B.E./B.Tech courses without having gone through the official KCET. The college admits students via COMEDK UGET and JEE Main entrance tests; around 30-40% of its seats are filled on the basis of performance on COMEDK UGET, while about 10-15% are allocated on the basis of students' performance on the JEE Main examination. The candidates have to fall within the eligibility range set by KVG College for admission in different UG/ PG Programs. For UG courses, candidates must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. They must also take the KCET or COMEDK UGET entrance examination. For PG courses, they must hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant field with at least 50% marks, and should take up GATE or PGCET entrance exams. Faculty: Most of The college faculty are inexperienced and alumni of the same college. Some of the faculty members were very good. Most senior professors were teaching while I'm studying. Their teaching was good enough to understand the syllabus. Lecturers are not always friendly and are often easily irritable.
