No you need to clear that before presenting your documents while registration for lateral entry .
Also lateral entry is rare process and if you will go with backlog for even enquiry than it might kill your chances of admission.

No, they don't have to give any entrance or other test.
They are selected on the basis of their diploma marks and personal interview round.

As per 2 or 3 years records cut off rank of CET BBSR rank gone up to 900 rank in General.

Candidate should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks from approved college by AICTE. For admissions, you need to appear for Exam conducted by VIT for lateral entry programme. Then you are eligible to take admission in VIT colleges.

Hi , I have a one backlog in mathematics in bca so, after drop that subject , can I get admission in MCA (lateral entry) . I got 97 rank .

No, you cannot get admission with any backlog in any subject. So you have got a good rank but you need to clear your back log because the college does not accept backlogs.
