Galgotias University BTech courses are offered in lateral entry in academic year 2026. Some lateral entry BTech courses are also offered in part-time mode for working professionals. Candidates must pass a DVoc course or BSc course with a minimum duration of three years.
Minimum aggregate and specialisation of these courses is based on chosen BTech course.

For lateral entry in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering at Lovely Professional University you typically need a 3 year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical , or a closely related stream) or a B.Sc. (Non Medical) from a recognized place, with the necessary aggregate marks, usually near 60% or a bit above. With lateral entry, you usually step into the B.Tech in the 2nd year, that is 3rd semester, without repeating the first year part. Admission is commonly through LPUNEST (LET – Lateral Entry Test) but in a few scenarios strong marks in the qualifying diploma can give some relaxation , or scholarship type benefits. Yes, BTech is available in lateral entry at Swami Vivekananda University Barrackpore. However, BTech (lateral entry) eligibility criteria and selection criteria are currently unknown. Thus, candidates will need to raise this query with admission desk of SVU Barrackpore.

Yes, BTech at Symbiosis Skills and Professional University offers lateral entry for Diploma holders. If you already have a three-year engineering diploma, you can jump straight into the second year. This saves you a full year of study. The seat count for later entry is limited and are based on your Diploma marks. Please check the specific eligibility rules on the university site.

There is no mention of Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology offering lateral entry into BTech courses. There is also no mention of a lateral entry eligibility criteria for BTech courses by either Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology or University of Jammu.
Thus, candidates should assume that BTech courses are not open for lateral entry at this institute.

SAGE Indore offers a Lateral Entry admission route for its BTech programme based not on JEE Mains but on SEE Entrance Test for candidates with diploma in Engineering/ Relevant discipline for admission to the SAGE Indore Engineering UG courses.

- Candidates passing Diploma with minimum 60% aggregate for BTech and minimum 75% aggregate for MBA Tech. OR
- Candidates passing the first year of B.Tech. / B.E. with CGPA equal to or above 3 out of 4.
