Yes, journalists in India are paid very well. Journalism salary in India ranges from INR 3 Lacs to 4 Lacs for an entry-level job after completion of the internship. With experience and skill development the candidate gets into the salary bracket of INR 8-10 Lacs within 4-5 years. Exceptional cases even breach the INR 10 Lacs salary bracket in less time. There are also many perks associated with this salary, hence, it can be said that journalists are paid well in India.

The salary of a journalist depends upon which position they have been selected for. At first, fresh mass communication graduates/post graduates are hired as interns and allocated to various departments as per their interests and the organization's requirements in the Input and Output division, anchors, producers, reporters, guest coordinators, research departments, etc.

For an entry-level journalist job in India, post successful completion of their internship period, the salary can range between INR 3 Lacs to 4 lakh. As the journalist gains experience the salary sees a rise along with various other perks.
