In Delhi University's scenario, it isn't. You can get admission with both your PCM and PCB percentage which ever is higher. But there's around a 3% relaxation for PCBM students, though not sure if it criteria still persist. Furthermore, DU offers only B.Sc. Honours degree in Food technology. If you wanna go for B.Tech in Food Technology then it might be better to have an option of maths and drop biology.

No its not compulsory. Most of the colleges like pantnagar, parbhani etc. Have maths as a compulsory subject for taking admission in their food tech programme. However in, Delhi University, B.Sc. , honors (Shaheed Rajguru college) is available for students who have biology background in 12th.

It is not necessary to take biology in class 12th as the major subjects required for food technology are PCM, but taking biology would be helpful as this course is about food which directly relates to biology because human system, metabolism, nutrition, food microbiology and other aspects of biology are involved.
