If you are good at mathematics, especially probability and statistics, then you don't need to be worried. In the real world, you need three things to be a data scientist- (Which would depend on the projects you take on).
Learn this if you haven't, you will need this more than the other two if aren't familiar with anything in the field.
3. Coding-Since you are a student of commerce, I am assuming that you don't know coding. I suggest you start learning, and in a few months you will know enough to call yourself a coder! Coding is extremely fun, but also requires patience while solving/debugging tough problems.

Yes, you can sit for KVPY-SX. KVPY has two sections, each section has 4 parts or subjects, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. You can attempt any three subjects in the first section and any two subjects in the second section. If you are studying both, biology and mathematics, you can attempt all the four subjects and the best of three will be selected. This is applicable only for students currently studying in class 12th, ie, KVPY- SX.
