Candidates need to be graduated with minimum 60% aggregate with BE/BTech from a recognised University to apply for MTech at NIT Silchar. The university from which the candidate obtained their UG degree must be recognised by the government or an appropriate regulatory body.

NIT Silchar outscores NIT Agartala in terms of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022 in the Engineering category. NIT Silchar was ranked 38, whereas, NIT Agartala was ranked 80 in the year 2022 by NIRF. However, academically, there is not much difference between the two. Talking about the fees of both the NITs, NIT Agartala M.Tech fee will range between INR 1.4 Lacs - INR 3.5 lakh. For NIT Silchar, the M.Tech fee is INR 1.4 lakh.

Yes, the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. The MBA programme at NIT Silchar is a two-year full-time course and the total tuition fee for the programme is INR 1.60 lakh.
