Despite the fact that the members of this department study core subjects, the majority of them are interested in non-core industries including consulting, data analytics, coding, banking, and UPSC. In the non-core field, most of them plan to obtain master's degrees. Every year, 85% of the students get placed. It's great that the college gives students the option to select their career. 70% of students received internship offers. In our department, internships are required for all students. The minimum eligibility for admission to B. Tech Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering is a class 12th/ Higher Secondary qualification with Biology, Maths, and Chemistry as main subjects. The mode of admission is a relevant entrance examination carried out by different universities such as JEE Main, UPSEE, AIEEE and other State-level examinations. The average tuition fee charged in India for this course ranges between INR 3 to 6 Lacs annually.
Successful graduates of the course are hired by firms like Mazagon Dock Limited, Garden Reach Shipbuilders Engineers Ltd, Bharati Shipyard Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Shipping Corporation of India Ltd and Goa Shipyard Limited. They are hired in capacities such as Port Manager, Chief Marine Engineer, Technical Superintendent etc. Average starting salary offered to such graduates lies generally between INR 4 to 10 Lacs per year, which increases with experience in the field.

Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training is a private institute under Maharashtra Academy of Engineering Education and Research (MAEER). The institute is located in Pune and was established in 2001. MANET is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. MANET Pune offers B.Tech. Degree course in Marine Engineering and B.Sc. Degree course in Nautical Science. It also offers B.Tech Lateral entry admission to the candidates. Candidates applying for B.Tech and B.Sc. Courses have to fill and submit the form the official website of the institute and send it to the MANET. To apply for the B.Tech and B.Sc. Degree course, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised board with 60% marks in aggregate. Candidates must have at least 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII. Candidates applying for B.Sc. Course in Nautical Science course must have 6/6 vision in both eyes without spectacles and should not be colour blind. Admission to B.Tech and B.Sc. Is done on the basis of MANET CET, merit in the qualifying examination and medical test. For B.Tech Lateral Entry, candidates must pass in Diploma in relevant discipline with an aggregate of 55% marks. Admission to B.Tech Lateral entry will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination followed by medical test.
