A new exam centre has been added in Churachandpur district, effective from 2025

The exam also continues to be held at Imphal, which was the previous location .

So in Churachandpur, you can either choose the local centre in Churachandpur city or opt for the Imphal centre, depending on your convenience during registration.

For 2025, the NERIST has released the JEE Main cutoffs on the basis of Round-wise seat allotment results. And, recently, Round 1 seat allotment has been released by the institute for the admission to BTech and BTech Integrated courses. Considering the NERIST 2025 cutoff has been released for round 1 for students seeking admission to BTech specialisations on the basis of JEE Main. The lowest closing rank has been released for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at 46694 for the candidates belonging to the General AI quota. For the General AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 46694 and 51838.

The qualifying score for NEE-I entrance exam is not specified, as it changes every year depending on several factors. 

After the exam result is declared, the names of the qualified candidates will be uploaded on the official website. Candidates then have to appear in the counselling process to complete their admission.

At the time of NEE counselling, candidates must have these documents with them:

  • Call letter for counselling of NERIST NEE
  • NEE Admit Card
  • Class 10th and 12th school certificate
  • Transfer and character certificate for the school last studied
  • Migration certificate (if applicable)
  • Affidavit on stamp paper with prescribed format duly signed by the applicant in the presence of notary public
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Certificate from the school principal mentioning no charges of ragging on the applicant in school/ college last studied.

The NERIST counselling process is as follows:

Issuance of counselling letter: To begin with NERIST will issue a counselling letter to those candidates who have their names on the merit list.

Appear in counselling: Then, candidates who have received the counselling letter of NEE have to appear in the counselling. During the counselling process, candidates’ documents and certificates are verified.

There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of the NEE result. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained. NERIST allows candidates to raise objections in NEE answer key which is released before the announcement of results. If candidates have any grievance to any answer mentioned in the answer key, they can raise objections. NERIST evaluates the objections submitted by the candidates and the final answer key is released. NEE result is calculated on the basis of the final answer key.

For candidates who belong to any of the States of India, except for the northeastern states, 10% of the total seats are reserved in NERIST. 80% of seats are reserved for candidates of the 8 (Eight) North Eastern States (10% for each state) as state quota.
