There are 23 IITs and 31 NITs in India which are known for their best placements for the decades. It has the top placements in India like 3.67 crores per annum. Coming to other private colleges like bits, IIIT Hyderabad, and VITs are also some of the best engineering colleges you can have a look. PRIST University and PMU offer full-time BCom courses that last three years. Comparing the BCom tuition fees of the two universities, PRIST seems to be more economical with a BCom fee ranging from INR 24,000 to INR 41,000. The BCom tuition fee at PMU ranges between INR 50,000 and INR 1.1 lakh. However, PMU offers more BCom specialisations than PRIST. Periyar Maniammai University offers scholarships as financial assistance to meritorious students. Scholarship are disbursed to students as per the following criteria:

  • Based on their marks scored in Class 12 and in JEE or equivalent or PMIST Entrance Test for BTech programmes (Up to INR 1.8 lakh).
  • For the BCom, BA, BBA, B.Ed and BSc programmes, the scholarship will be based on Class 12 marks and the PMIST Entrance Test (Up to INR 15,000).
  • The sanctioned scholarship will be offered to students throughout the programme subject to the conditions that they have a minimum of 80% attendance in the previous academic year.

The University has successfully concluded the 2023 placements. A total of 678 students registered for the 2023 drive, out of which 581 were successfully placed. Further,  68 companies participated and distributed over 798 job offers. The the highest package and average package offered during Periyar Maniammai University placements 2023 were INR 6 LPA and INR 2.50 LPA, respectively. PMU provides BCom in various specialisations. The career prospects after pursuing BCom at PMU vary across these specialisations. Generally, BCom graduates can build a career as Accountants, Accounts Managers, Business Consultants, Sales Executives, Financial Analysts etc. The average package for the university's BCom graduates ranges from INR 1.2 Lacs to 1.8 lakh.  Gradutes can also pursue CA, ACS,  ICWAI, MBA, MCom,  MHRM and other professional degrees in India and abroad.

Yes, BCom (Hons) is one of the courses among the courses provided by the Department of Commerce at PMU. The duration of the course is three years. Admission to the UG-level course is based on merit in Class 12 and the availability of seats. At present, PMU has a total of 60 seats for BCom (Hons).  A candidate must have passed Class 12 with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Accountancy as one of the subjects to be eligible for PMU BCom (Hons).
