Candidates wishing to take admission in full-time sponsored research scholar PhD at IIIT Ranchi should have completed ME/MTech or equivalent with at least 60% aggregate score/ 6.0 CPI. SC/ST/ PwD candidates will be given a relaxation of 5 % marks. Along with this, applicants should have any if the below mentioned qualification:
- Qualified CSIR/ UGC/ DAE/ NBHM/ DST/ DBT/ ICAR/ICMR/ ICPR or secured funding from such an agency.
- Applicants should be financed by the Government /Semi-Government/ academic/industry /research lab.
- Applicants should be nominated by Government of India/State under a Cultural Exchange Scholarship Programme

Yes, IIIT Ranchi does offers a doctoral programme in Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Candiates a qualified M. Tech/ME/MS in a relevant discipline and scored well on the GATE or UGC NET/CSIR exam. Also candidates are simmoned for institute's written test and personal interview, which they must passed to get admission in the IIIT Ranchi's PhD programme.
