Without sugarcoating, Princeton University admissions are brutal and it follows a very tough approach to selecting the bright candidates

The university uses a holistic and test optional policy but it is highly unlikely to get in with a SAT score of 1450 for Indian students due to high competition

To get in, Indian applicants should aim for a SAT score of 1500 to 1570

To improve your chances at Princeton admissions, you should apply through the Single-Choice Early Action as it slightly improves your chances as the Princeton University acceptance rates are generally higher

But apply for SCEA only when -

  • Princeton is your absolute choice (you can't apply for any other university through early action if you apply here)
  • Your application is fully ready by the November deadline.

At Princeton, Indian students can only go for a Fall intake for the UG and most graduate programs.

They do not have a Spring intake because the Princeton curriculum is very much structured, cohort based and focuses mostly on-campus community building.

The Princeton strict fixation to a single Fall intake is the result of multiple factors.

The Princeton Early Action deadline also known as Single Choice Early Action or Restrictive Early Action, is non-binding for all international students, including Indian applicants.

This means that the students are not bound to attend this school if they get in. They have until Early May to make a choice that is beneficial for these students to compare the financial aid offered.

The best thing? The students can apply to other universities while waiting for the decision.

If you are an Indian student and wondering if Harvard is easier to get into than Princeton University, then please note that both of them are out of the hardest to get into. Also, both are part of the prestigious Ivy League.

Look at the pointers given below -

  • While both of them are hard to get into, Harvard University is slightly harder to get into, with acceptance rates going as low as 3.63%
  • And the Princeton University acceptance rate stays at around 4.4% only.  You have to be exceptional to get into either of them.

Neither Harvard nor Princeton is harder than the other. Both universities have a low acceptance rate and are tough to enter. The Princeton University acceptance rate is 5% where the Harvard has the acceptance rate between 3-4%. Students should fulfill the basic qualification by having a high school and UG degree for UG and PG and submit documents like transcripts, LOR, resume, English language requirements, and more.

Princeton University allows admission to international UG students in Early and Regular modes. The application deadline for both modes are closed now. PG students should look for the particular programs before applying as the deadline varies. The deadline for MS programs is closed for Indian students.
