Yes you can pursue BA Honors, but as the competition is high you should not change your stream just have back plan kn which you can do better. It's better to pursue course in your stream itself. It's upto you.

Microbiology is an integral part of medical course but it is also a basic life Science subject. There are applied aspects like Fermentation Technology, Infectious diseases and Dairy and Food Technology which are all needed by the industries.

Yes and No. Yes, because biochemistry is a very wide reaching subject, and there are areas that overlap with Medicine. Knowledge developed using biochemistry helps the medical field, but the medical field also determines what a biochemist would choose to research.
