Admissions to BSc courses at SSLA is entrance-based. The university considers its own entrance exam for selecting the students, i.e., SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test). After the valid scores in the entrance exam, the institute conducts a PI. Thus, the admissions for the course are merit-based.

The diff. between both these courses, BSc (Hons) and BSc (Hons) with Research at SSLA lies the academic qualification in the last year of the study:
- BSc (Hons) with Research: Students must complete a comprehensive 8-credit Research Project in their fourth year, in addition to a mandatory 4-credit Research Project: Proposal Writing course.
- BSc (Hons): Instead of the 8-credit research project, students must complete two additional courses from their Major Specialisation basket or opt for an additional internship.
