A biology student can technically apply for a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Information Technology (IT) at L D College of Engineering but should meet the eligibility criteria specified by the institute. Generally, PCM background is needed for courses in engineering. Since you are a biology student, you won't be meeting the requirement unless you've taken additional courses or bridge programs. Admission is generally based on GUJCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test) or JEE scores, but some institutes may also consider other criteria. Hello Shikhar Goel,
Yes, Punjab Engineering College (PEC) has a defence quota for B.Tech admissions but Thapar Institute of engineering and Technology does not have the defence quota.
PEC has a defence quota for the children and grand children of freedom fighters as well as the children of serving or ex-serving defence personnel.
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology does not have any defence quota.

Candidates for admission to Thapar University's (LM Thapar School of Management) MBA programme must have a bachelor's degree in any field with at least 50% of the possible points (45% for SC, ST, and PwD categories) or an equivalent CGPA from an accredited university. Professional credentials such as ACS, ICWA or CA can also be used to qualify applicants. Students in their last year may apply provisionally.

To get admitted to B.Sc. in Biotechnology course at Thapar School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, applicants must meet the entry requirements - 60.0% in 12th.
The admission shall be on the basis of PCM (in Aggregate) in 10+2 level or equivalent with minimum of 60% marks. For admissions to Masters Programs a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination is required.

For admission to MBA course at Thapar University, the admission fee will be paid after allocation of provisional seat during the online counselling for programmes within a stipulated time as mentioned in university's brochure. During the offline/ in-person counselling the fee will have to be deposited on the spot. No admission will be given without payment of full fees.
