The University of Western Australia ranks #77 for 2025 in the World University ranking and the University of Melbourne ranks #13 indicating that the University of Melbourne has a higher ranking than the University of Western Australia. 

The acceptance rate at UWA is around 38% making admissions to the university competitive and selective. On the contrary, the University of Melbourne's acceptance rate is 70%.

The University of Western Australia and Curtin University are both highly-ranked public universities located in Australia. According to the top-ranking publishers the University of Western Australia ranked #143 in 2024 in the World University ranking and Curtin University secured the rank of #201-250. The University of Western Australia offers a rich and diverse background in arts and culture for the students to immerse themselves in. Some of these events include the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, Music Concerts, the Perth Festival, and the Berndt Museum. The Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery has artwork for more than 90 years. Some interesting holdings of the museum include Western Australian and Australian Art, Australian Aboriginal, Papua New Guinean, and Asian Art and Artefacts.
