UGC NET Application Process

The NTA released the UGC NET 2026 notification on April 29. Along with the notification, the application process also started. The last date to apply was May 24.

Yes, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the UGC NET exam twice in a year in two sessions namely June and December session. Candidates can give the exam unlimited times. There is no limit in number of attempts. Two sessions increase the opportunity for a candidate to qualify the exam for JRF and Assistant Professor.

The registration for the UGC NET 2026 June session begun on April 29, 2026. The authority released the application form and notification on the official portal at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Without filling the application form online, candidates will not be able to sit in the exam. 

The NTA opened the UGC NET 2026 Application correction window on May 26. The last date to make correction was May 28, 2026. The Registration process was closed on May 24.

Both images should be in JPEG format, Pay the application fee (Gen - INR 1150; OBC/EWS - INR 600; SC/ST/PwD/ Transgender - INR 325), Save and submit the form, Download the confirmation page.
