Candidates must score good marks for clearing the UGC NET exam. For General Category the minimum qualifying mark is 40% and for reserved category it is 35%. In the June session 2025, the good score in History subject for the unreserved category was 162 for Asst. Professor and 180 for JRF.

After clearing the UGC NET exam, candidates have lot of opportunities to give their best in the research perspective. They can become assistant professor, pursue lectureship or get JRF. They can start working on their Ph.D. They can also set up their laboratory and recruit people for work. They can also work in several laboratories including ICAR, DRDO, ICMR, etc. They can also become research scholar, and more.

The UGC NET 2026 June session result will be released after the conduction of an exam. It is expected that it will be declared in the last week of July or first week of August 2026.

The authority will release the UGC NET 2026 result at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Candidates will be able to download their scorecard by using their login credentials. It contains the marks of both papers, post applied for, candidates' perssonal details, etc.

On January 19, 2024, the UGC NET Result 2023 was made available on the official website. The National Testing Agency has released the UGC NET Exam Result on its official site. Following are the available stats regarding the UGC NET Dec 2019 Exam and Result -
Number of candidates registered - 1034872
Number of candidates appeared - 793813
Number of candidates qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only - 60147
Candidates qualified for JRF & eligible for Assistant Professor - 5092
