Candidate who have given any other examination of any other authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto are also eligible to apply.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST, the age limit is relaxable by three years.

Admission is through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA counselling based on the score obtained in NATA. Minimum eligibility to apply is that candidate should have cleared class 12th exams with Mandatory Subject : Mathematics. Other eligibility criteria:
Candidates having 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Government with 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics or international baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing after 10 years of Schooling with 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination are eligible to apply. Normally, government or private aided colleges have to get their fees regulated by a body appointed by the concerned. However, unaided colleges are outside the ambit of this. Hence, the fees charged are almost entirely based on what market can accept. Normal colleges have fees of about Rs.50 K per semester, while others have it at the level of Rs.1Lac per semester.
