CEPT University invites applications to its undergraduate programs: BArch, Civil Engineering and Urban Design

May 08, 2026: CEPT University invites applications from eligible candidates to its undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urban Design. With India's infrastructure needs set to hit $4.5 trillion by 2040, the demand for future-ready, interdisciplinary talent is important. CEPT University’s Bachelor’s in Architecture (B.Arch), a six-decade-old program, is internationally recognised for its studio-centric pedagogy and distinguished alumni network. The program focuses on independent thinking and design excellence through immersive studio environments, courses in technology, history, and theory. Students are motivated to take part in international exchange, study tours, and elective-driven learning and engage with global architectural practices and research ecosystems.

The Bachelor’s in Urban Design (BUD), a five-year program, is about the study of cities and design. It addresses the complexities of the urban world. The program focuses on the design of public spaces and urban systems, helping students analyse and shape cities through an understanding of social, cultural, economic, and political dynamics. With this degree, graduates can influence policy and drive international development or go into private practice, government service, or advanced academic research. 

The Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (Honours) (BCE) course is offered by the University’s Faculty of Technology and stands out as the only engineering program in India structured around a studio-based pedagogy. Integrating architecture, design, and management, this program focuses on collaborative, real-world engineering. Graduates leverage international exchanges and a network of 1,500+ alumni to lead infrastructure projects in India and around the world.

Across all programs, CEPT University emphasises interdisciplinary learning through its Foundation Program, where students from different faculties train together in their first year. 

Admissions to these programs are based on national-level entrance examinations, including JEE Main, NATA, and GUJCET, based on course and category.

CEPT University was established by the CEPT University Act of 2005, enacted by the government of Gujarat. It was originally started in 1962 as the School of Architecture, supported by the Ahmedabad Education Society.
