Parul University VP Joins Prestigious Indian University Founders and Vice Chancellors Delegation to Australia
As a part of the esteemed international academic initiative, Vice President of Parul University, Dr. Geetika Patel, was invited to an exclusive Indian University Founders and Vice Chancellors Delegation to Australia. Hosted by Austrade (The Australian Trade and Investment Commission), the high- level academic mission saw participation of Austrade commissioners and senior representatives during the visit.
Over the course of five days, the delegates engaged extensively with a range of universities and key stakeholders throughout the Australian academic system in Sydney, Canberra, Gold Coast, and Brisbane, where they visited several major institutions, including Universities Australia and the Department of Education Australia and also got an opportunity to attend the Universities Australia Solutions Summit 2026. Together, these venues provided insight into Australia's higher educational system and explored Australia's evolving startup and innovation system by meeting with ministers, ambassadors and consuls general. opportunity to. This further created a platform for the exchange of ideas, collaborations on mutual projects, exploring the art & culture hub, and the formation of long-term partnerships between the countries.
A major highlight of the visit was the Annual Universities Australia Summit 2026. At the summit Dr. Geetika represented Parul University among the Vice Chancellors of all Australian universities, who discussed opportunities for strategic collaboration and mutual growth for future academic partnerships between India and Australia.
The delegation program aimed to strengthen the academic collaboration between India and Australia. As both countries continue to develop their trading and diplomatic relations, education has developed into a significant basis for connecting these two nations. Notably, Australia hosts such an exclusive delegation of educators with India only, unlike any other country which exhibits this bilateral academic relationship with strength and priority. As of today, over 1.25 million Indian students have been educated in an Australian University, which shows a mutual and shared commitment to working together to create opportunities for global education, new ways of learning and developing, and opportunities for cultural exchanges.
In addition to the delegation program, Dr. Geetika held meetings at partner institutions with which Parul University holds established MoUs, thereby enhancing already existing cooperative relations between Parul University and its international partners. She visited Western Sydney University and met with a student who is enrolled in a 2+2 partnership program between Parul University and Western Sydney University in the Agriculture program. Similarly, she also visited Charles Sturt University, where currently, 3 Parul University students are studying Computer Science Engineering as part of a well-established two-way student mobility and faculty exchange initiatives. Throughout her various engagements, Dr. Geetika emphasised the importance of enhancing the existing translation relationships and exploring opportunities to expand into other academic disciplines, engage in more in-depth research collaborations, and develop enhanced staff exchange programmes.
Reflecting on the outcomes of the visit, the engagement is anticipated to generate and create opportunities for meaningful collaborative partnerships that help strengthen institutional relationships and open up new opportunities for both academic staff and students to engage in areas such as academic exchanges, collaborative research projects, and innovation-based partnerships.
