Parul University Initiates Vadodara's First-Ever Society Of Petroleum Engineering Student Chapter

September 16, 2021: Parul University, a city-based university, has become the first in Vadodara and the second in Gujarat to form a student chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineering, as part of its attempts to bridge the gap between industrial application and institutional instruction (SPE). J Tikku, ONGC's chief general manager, inaugurated the student chapter earlier this month on the University's campus. The petroleum department of the Faculty of Engineering has been working hard to provide its students with the most enriching exposure to practical learning through their close association with experts in the field.

Asish Thapliyal, Mani Bansal, and Piyush Nene of the SPE India division were in attendance for the inauguration, as were 219 petroleum engineering students.

SPE's mission is to improve the oil and gas industry's ability to meet the world's energy demands in a safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective manner. SPE has grown from its beginnings as a council inside the American Institute of Mining Engineers (AIME) in the mid-1900s to become an autonomous, charitable global society with over 140,600 members in 144 countries. SPE provides unrivaled bits of information, shared abilities, long-term development, and local community solidarity to fuel individual success and the company's fate. SPE manages important industry assets such as OnePetro and PetroWiki, as well as publishing and distributing publications, books, and other materials. Free SPE membership, access to any technical publication on the SPE website, and the ability to present their papers at any SPE conference around the world are among the perks of this programme. In addition to their normal lectures, Parul University students will be able to hear lectures by SPE prominent speakers through numerous platforms as part of their academics. Students will be able to participate in all SPE India Chapter programmes, visit various student chapter programmes in India, and apply for scholarship possibilities in various capacities as a result of this new development.

Professor Om Prakash Develops Automated Robotic Cleaner For Cleaning Inaccessible Parts Of The Covid Wards

July 20, 2021: By developing techniques to combat the spread of Covid-19, technology has shown to be one of the most effective means of assisting the healthcare sector. Parul University in Vadodara has combined its engineering and medical sectors to develop long-term solutions for the welfare of Covid patients while also caring for the well-being of its employees. Professor Om Prakash Shukla of the University took the unusual step of developing an automated robotic cleaner for cleaning inaccessible portions of the Covid wards to ensure the safety of cleaning employees by minimizing interaction with patients. Parul University has taken an interdisciplinary approach to its teaching and learning process, integrating innovations from one sector to address the issues of the other.

This revolutionary invention, known as ‘Clenoroboflex,’ is the most recent addition to the University's extensive line of in-house produced technology. It is a remote-controlled vacuum cleaner with a working range of 15 meters, making it ideal for use in infectious illness wards. The device may be controlled by a single person from a safe distance. This new product will greatly reduce traffic flow due to fewer manpower requirements and the usage of numerous cleaning equipment for hospital and healthcare business sanitation and cleaning. The idea was created for use at Parul Sevashram Hospital, the University's 750-bed multi-specialty hospital.

This unusual robot is battery-powered, with a working time of two hours and facilities for battery backup. This increased battery life is essential because a single charge may cover a larger radius and provides a steady stream of uninterrupted usage. Furthermore, it is manufactured entirely of local materials with no welding and has a PVC body construction, making it extremely lightweight and battery-powered. It is critical for the machine's use in the medical profession that it can be sterilised quickly and simply for reuse. Because the robot is composed of PVC, it can be easily sanitized using normal hospital cleaning chemicals.

Women will be in charge of the operations and management of this food outlet, and the proceeds from their daily business activities will be used to support themselves and their families. Dr Parul Patel, Vice President of Parul University, stated, "I feel that via this new programme, women across our society will find solace as they will be able to help their families especially during these tough times." Healthcare workers at Parul Sevashram Hospital go out of their way to accommodate COVID-19 patients

April 23, 2021: Hospitals and healthcare professionals have gone beyond and beyond to address the medical needs of Covid patients as the number of cases of Covid-19 has risen dramatically across the country. Dr Krupa Vaghela and Ekta Modi of Parul Sevashram Hospital are two such primary contributors in health administration, whose selfless devotion and determination have assured the wellbeing of multiple patients both locally and statewide. The effective distribution of medical services has been one of the most difficult problems in the healthcare field, but Parul Sevashram Hospital has effectively navigated these obstacles by successfully catering to the wellbeing of over 3,000 patients to date and continues to treat over 300 patients every day.

As the medical administrator at Parul Sevashram Hospital, Dr Krupa Vaghela has been assisting patients with their healthcare needs. She has been looking after the patients' healthcare and also helping the surgeons, nurses, and other medical personnel at the height of the pandemic crisis. Both of her parents contracted Covid-19 while serving the country, and her father died as a result. Despite facing such a difficult situation, Dr Krupa managed to provide healthcare to the many affected patients at Parul Sevashram Hospital.

Another example is Ekta Modi, who has been instrumental in ensuring the hospital's medical facilities are as efficient as possible. The hospital has been able to develop an ample supply of medical services for the healthcare personnel, while still catering to the individualized needs of each patient, thanks to her consistent contributions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Ekta also lost her aunt to Covid-19 during the second wave, but despite this, she remained committed to satisfying the needs of the many patients under the supervision of Parul Sevashram Hospital.

Parul Sevashram Hospital has been able to create a total of 580 Covid-19 beds, with 200 of them being given free of charge to underprivileged patients, thanks to the contributions of such devoted medical personnel and the patronage of the Hospital's management. “Our whole team is operating day and night with one single goal in mind: to save as many lives as possible,” said Dr Geetika Madan Patel, the Hospital's Medical Director. “With such good and driven Covid fighters, we will be able to come out of this tough pandemic situation soon,” she said.

Parul University’s Design and Fine Arts Students Add a Pop of Colour to Fitness by Painting the Akota Bridge Cycle track

March 22, 2021: With several exercise centres closing due to the pandemic, early morning runs and evening cycles have become popular ways to keep fit when covering enough physical distance. With many Vadodara residents jumping on the exercise bandwagon, city-based Parul University took the initiative of supporting the Streets for People Challenge as part of the Smart Cities Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India's Cycles4Change initiative. Students from the University's Faculties of Design and Fine Arts transformed the Akota bridge bike track into a colourful mural to inspire Vadodara's many people to live a safe lifestyle.

The Akota bridge cycle track architecture was carefully considered in order to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, comfort, and experience. The Parul University Student of Fine Arts and Design tried to reflect the influence and importance of art and imagination in the overall growth of the city by influencing the lives of the people through such a project. This imagined track provides a one-of-a-kind cycling experience in a playful leisure environment, with a lively painted track exuding an atmosphere of active positivity. In partnership with Meraki Design Studio, the students planned and carried out this thesis.

The aim of this project is to inspire people to engage in cycling by taking their own bike or renting a smart bike from one of the smart bike stations and participating in recreational yet physical activities. Following the success of this pilot project, the University's architecture faculties intended to build and renovate several more such corridors and cycle tracks. When the time comes
