Bharathiar University offers PhD at the doctoral level in both full-time and part-time modes. The University has 13 schools and 37 Research Departments on Campus, dedicated to teaching and research, which include the Bharathiar School of Management and Entrepreneur Development and the School of Distance Education.

A candidate who secures 25 marks out of 50 marks in the qualifying degree and secures an aggregate of 25 marks out of 50 marks comprising both CET and interview shall be declared qualified for admission into PhD programme. The University shall admit candidates through a two-stage process an entrance test, called Common Eligibility Test (CET), and an interview. CET shall normally be conducted
by the University during June / July every year. The application process for Bharathiar University is completely online. Bharathiar University PhD Scholarship
The university offers scholarships to PhD students. To get a scholarship at Bharathiar University, The candidate should have secured a minimum of 75% attendance and 50% aggregate in their previous year of study. (Only Full-Time Candidate). The income limit of parents should below INR 2.5 lakh.

The university has not specifically released the ranking for PhD. However, Bharathiar University is steadily securing good position in rankings among the top Universities in India. No, Bharathiar University applications are mostly online only. However, students have to submit the hard copy of the application form to the university. This is for verification purposes. Admissions and applications are through centralised process only.
