Ground Reailty of STAR (Affiliated by BPUT).
Placements: For the mechanical department, there is a very limited placement process and package available. The core companies come here to hire a very limited number of students. The average package here is around 2 LPA to 3.5 LPA. The internship program highly relies on the student's effort. Placement for the IT department is higher than for the mechanical one.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi has very limited speed in limited buildings of the campus. Sufficient computer labs and mechanical labs are available for all the students. The classrooms are decent, and library facilities are also available. The canteen door is okay, and all the food shops try to maintain good hygiene among them. First aid medical facilities are available, and very limited sports and games are conducted here.
Faculty: The faculty here is sufficiently experienced to teach B.Tech students, and most of the teachers use the native language to teach their respective subjects. The course here gets updated every year according to BPUT, and it kind of makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are a bit easy, and the pass percentage is about 77% to 80%.
Other: The college is decent. Don't have high expectations, and the course and teachers should evolve, or else the college will run backward in terms of development.

The inside facts of the IGIT
Placements: The placement here is decent. Many big companies like Amazon, TCS, Flipkart, and many others come for placement. But they offer a low package to a decent number of students. Very rarely, the package touches a 2-digit number (in Lakh) for any graduate students during the campus placement. The internship programme here is mostly inactive and whenever required, it is managed by the students only.
Infrastructure: The facilities are not so bad. Wi-Fi is available throughout the academic building at a decent speed. Each branch has its own designated labs. The classrooms are quite advanced with a smart board and a projector. The library have sufficient number of books and articles. The mess food is very good and many students like the menu.
Faculty: The faculty members are very experienced and humble in nature. The teaching quality of teachers in my branch is very good. It is easy to gain knowledge from them. The course here gets updated according to the teacher's every year. The semester exams are a bit tricky but very helpful for students. The pass percentage is above 85%.
Other: The fest is best compared to the other ones that I have witnessed. It is very interesting and impressive for all the students who study here.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology - Batch of 2029

A balanced college experience with good academics and decent exposure.
Placements: In my batch, around 60-70% got placed, with the maximum package being 6 LPA and the least being 1.5 LPA. Pharma companies, diagnostic labs, and companies like Biocon were the recruiting companies. Top roles like lab technologist, QC analyst, and research assistant were offered in the last few years.
Infrastructure: We have well-equipped laboratories, decent classrooms, and a well-stocked library. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus, and hostel facilities are satisfactory with regular water and electricity supply. The food is average, and medical facilities are available. Sports activities are available both indoors and outdoors.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally qualified, supportive, and knowledgeable in their respective subjects. The curriculum covers areas of biotech, and the semester exams are of moderate difficulty. The pass percentage is around 85-90%, and internal assessments help reduce academic pressure.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in life sciences and biotechnology. The crowd is decent, and once a year, an event happens. The rest of the surroundings and extracurricular activities are just fine.

We get to experience a campus designed to support innovation, learning, and holistic growth.
Placements: We have a good number of students in our batch. More than 60 percent of batch students got placed through campus, and the other 40 percent of students signed up to not opt for campus placements. The average package offered is 5 LPA, and the highest package offered is 12 LPA. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA. TCS is the top recruiter in our batch, followed by Tech Mahindra and Infosys, too. From our batch, a lot of students opted for medium-sized IT firms in Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad for internship opportunities. Roles like business development executive and SDE are offered.
Infrastructure: The hostel and mess are good. Both boys' and girls' hostels are there, but not co-ed. Wi-Fi is there, and its usage is good. For the mess and hostel, we have to pay an additional deposit, which is refundable at the end of the semester. The quality of food is average but manageable. We have a basketball court too.
Faculty: Teachers are amazing and qualified. Their behaviour towards students is also good. Most of the teachers are PhD holders. The course curriculum is relevant, and due to AI and other technological advancements, it is going to be relevant. Exams are always difficult, but we have to study consistently to pass. Around 90 percent of students pass the semester exams.
Other: I chose computer science engineering after 12th. I decided to opt for this due to the opportunities and learning of this subject. I had a passion for tech for a very long time, so I chose it. Internship opportunities are something this college lacks, or else it's a good college. Events and fests are amazing. We organise Sankalp fest every year for 3 continuous days. If students are from the EWS category, then they will have a lot of scholarships. Students also get a scholarship based on merit and top performance.

Why is the IGIT very important to the localites?
Placements: The core placement for chemical engineering students is limited. The students prefer to go for IT placements. The average package here is around 3 to 4 LPA, and the highest package here is 7 to 12 LPA, which changes year to year. The internship programme is mostly run by the students and is helped by some professors and alumni.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is available for the students and teachers, and it is of moderate speed. The classrooms are okayish, and the library is well-equipped with important books and test papers. The hostel food is the best among all colleges that come under BPUT. Only 2 days of the week, veg is provided to all, but for the remaining days, non-veg is available for those who want to consume it. The hostel mess also follows the same routine. Basic medical facilities are provided on the campus.
Faculty: All the lecturers here are very well qualified in their own field. The teaching quality of all is very simple and understandable. The course gets upgraded every year, so there is no relevance in that sector. It makes most of the students very industry-ready. The semester exams are a bit difficult, but if you study throughout the year, then it will be another simple task for you.
Other: Once a year, it is compulsory to hold a festival here, but in between, there are many festivals held by the cultural clubs present here.

No, there is no placement.
Placements: If you come to our college for placement, then you will not get it. This college placement cell is not working properly. They do not invited company, and they will not support getting the placement, and you also not get an internship opportunity, nor get ace at this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average, but it does not get smart classroom, and Wi-Fi and smart board are not good. The instruments are also not available in the college, and the furniture is also an old model. The development is low, and the quality of the infrastructure hostel room is average.
Faculty: Exams can be conducted smoothly. The teachers are good in this college, they will provide proper knowledge about how to develop your career they will guide. Office stamps are not good, the process of work is slow, and they do not solve your query or provide help.
Other: I chose this college for its good teaching staff and to get a certificate.
