Q:   Does the OJEE syllabus change every year?
A: 

Syllabus for OJEE remains same every year. Minor changes can be done but the core subjects of OJEE syllabus for MBA, BTech, MCA, MPHarma, BPharma, BCAT, etc. remains the same.

Q:   What are the important topics of the Verbal Reasoning and Comprehension section of OJEE question paper?
A: 

The Verbal Reasoning and Comprehension section of the OJEE question paper tests the candidates language skills, vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension. Focus on improving your reading speed, comprehension abilities, and vocabulary. Practice reading passages and answering questions based on the passage content. Some of the important topics of this section include:

Q:   What is the OJEE exam duration? Can I change my exam slot?
A: 
The OJEE exam is a computer-based test for all courses. However, the OJEE exam pattern differs according to the programme you are applying for. The course-wise OJEE exam duration is as follows: 1. For MBA, LE B.Tech, LE B.Sc/ LE, MCA/LE MCA M.Tech and MArch courses is 120 minutes (2 hours). 2. For the B.Pharma course is three hours or 180 minutes. 3. For the M.Pharma Integrated MBA and LE B.Pharma courses, the exam duration is one hour or 60 minutes. This means, candidates will have approximately one minute per question to solve it. Candidates must take care of saving their answers at every step as the moment sectional time limit will get over, the screen will automatically move to the next section. The OJEE exam is conducted in three slots for most courses. The OJEE exam slot will be mentioned on their admit cards and there is no provision of changing the exam slot. Candidates must reach the OJEE exam centre at least and hour before their slot timings.
Q:   How can I score better in the Quantitative Ability section of OJEE?
A: 
  1. Practicing sample papers and mock test. 
  2. Focus on improving accuracy and speed. These are the two players which can help the students fetch good marks.
  3. Students can begin preparing for the QA section with easier topics first and then move to tricker ones.
  4. They can prepare flashcards to help memorizing formulas and theorems.
Q:   What is the scope of OJEE?
A: 

OJEE or Odisha JEE is a state level entrance exam for admission to MBA colleges in Odisha. Scope of OJEE is that it is a gateway for admission to UG and PG programmes in colleges in Odisha. Students who wish to pursue courses such as BTech, MBA, MPharma, BPharma, BCAT, Integrated MBA, MCA, etc. can appear for OJEE and take admission to colleges and universities in Odisha.

Q:   Is OJEE difficult or easy?
A: 

To know if OJEE is difficult or easy, it depends on every candidate. The exam requires students to know the basics and OJEE syllabus completely. OJEE MBA exam is easier than other exams such as CAT, XAT, etc. but requires a good preparation, practice and time management. 

Q:   Are the OJEE mock tests similar to the actual exam?
A: 

OJEE Cell designs the OJEE mock test in simulation to actual OJEE exam. Infact, previous year question papers are considered to prepare the OJEE mocks tests. Topics of mock test are based on OJEE syllabus. The mock tests have similar exam pattern, format, structure, etc.

Q:   When should I start preparing for OJEE?
A: 

Aspirants should start preparing for the OJEE exam at least six months before the test date.  This duration will be enough to complete the OJEE syllabus thoroughly and practice ample number of mock tests. The OJEE exam is similar to other MBA entrance exams so if a candidate has appeared for any other MBA exam before OJEE, they need to only do exam based preparation and focus on exam-specific mock tests. OJEE 2026 exam will be conducted on May 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. 

Q:   What are the qualifying marks in OJEE?
A: 

There is no fixed OJEE cut off marks declared OJEE Cell. But, based on the previous year trends:

  • Students should have at least 25% of total marks to qualify
  • SC/ST category students should have at least 20% of total marks
Q:   What are the common mistakes to avoid for better OJEE preparation?
A: 
  • Not drafting and reviewing the short notes during preparation
  • Not taking mock tests regularly
  • Neglecting OJEE syllabus
  • Neglecting time management
  • Overlooking OJEE PYQPs
  • Skipping revision
Q:   Will the OJEE exam be conducted in the paper-based mode this year?
A: 

No, OJEE exam will only be conducted in computer-based test mode. Earlier, OJEE was held in two modes computer-based test mode or online and paper-based test mode or offline, but 2019 onwards OJEE exam is being held in online mode only. There is also no provision of offline fee payment either. Candidates must note that OJEE registration is also an online process. The students need to visit the OJEE exam centre in order to take the OJEE exam. Candidates will be required to mark the correct answer by choosing the radio bullet against the right option given on the screen. Candidates will be given four options for each question and they will be required to choose the right one on the screen. 

Q:   Is there negative marking for wrong answers in OJEE exam?
A: 

Yes, OJEE exam has negative markings. Each question in the OJEE exam carries four marks. And for every incorrect answer, one mark is deducted.

OJEE and JEE syllabus is somewhat same and different in some places. The OJEE syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is different from JEE. In JEE, the physics syllabus includes topics such as Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics, etc. These topics require knowledge of physics topics.

Any graduate candidate with a 50 percent aggregate can apply for OJEE. The applicant must also be a citizen of India. There is no age bar for the candidates appearing for the exam. However, candidates appearing for BTech Marine Engineering exam must not be more than 22 years of age.

No, the OJEE application form is available in online mode only which can be filled on official website of OJEE. There is no provision of filling the application form offline. Candidates also need to make an online fee payment.

OJEE application process 2026 started on January 28, 2026. The application form for OJEE was available online till March 29 and the candidates were required to pay the application fee online as well by March 29, 2026.
