Our college provides good faculty members and standard of education.
Placements: The CMI entrance exam is conducted around July, and on average of about 10,000 students write this exam. The exam is difficult, and about 100 students were selected for admission. Out of which, 23 students accept the admission, while 21 students opt for BSc maths and CS and 2 students opt for BSc maths and physics. The culture at CMI is mostly research focused, as many students pursue a PhD. However, campus recruitment is also available. Companies like Credit-Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Teradata, Coriolis Technologies, etc., recruit students with a salary package of 16 LPA. I haven't applied for any job positions yet, but I got an internship offer in Sahaj Software which offers a salary of Rs. 25,000 per month. Mostly students opt for research internships in top Indian colleges like IITs, ISIs and abroad colleges under the CNRS programme to the University of Bordeaux, University of Paris, Ecole Normal Superieure with full funding and stipend.
Infrastructure: CMI provides a library, computer lab, hostel, Wi-Fi facility and air-conditioned classrooms. But the speed of the Wi-Fi facility is slow and don't reach all parts of the hostel. The mess food is subpar with the South Indian food, and most of the hostel residents hate eating it. So, many students order food from outside most of the days. There are volleyball, basketball and football fields for sports.
Faculty: The teachers are respected professors in their field and include several awardees of prestigious awards like the Bhavnagar award. They are mostly helpful with problems a student may have. The course curriculum is research focused putting more emphasis on theoretical studies but the course is challenging and promotes critical thinking which are vital skills necessary for any industry position.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to study mathematics and computer science. I wish that our college improve hostel food and should provide less emphasis on grades. CMI offers a tuition fee waiver to most of the students who join the BSc programme which will be only revoked if your CGPA is below 6. CMI organises fest called Tessellate every year.

Glad to be a student at Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI). Absolutely satisfied.
Placements: The culture at Chennai Mathematical Institute is mostly research-based, as many students mainly pursue higher degrees in Mathematics such as Ph.D. and M.Sc. However, campus recruitment is also available. IT companies and financial firms recruit students with salary packages varying from 14LPA to 16LPA. However, most students opt for internships at IITs and NITs. Stipends are also provided. CMI also has an exchange program.
Infrastructure: CMI provides a 24/7 open, well-maintained library and e-library, along with well-maintained computer labs with Wi-Fi and AC classrooms. There are volleyball, basketball, and football fields. Common room amenities are available. The CMI hostel provides accommodation, basic furniture, and Wi-Fi facilities. Since CMI is located in Chennai, South-Indian foods are provided in the mess.
Faculty: Each degree requires students to take a certain number of courses - core (compulsory courses) and electives (opted by the students). Each batch of students is assigned faculty advisors from the faculty. Being one of India's best institutes to pursue higher education in mathematics, the respected professors are highly talented and well-qualified. They are helpful to the students.
Other: I chose this course because I want and love to study Mathematics. This course offers placements and internships to many notable IT companies. Environmental courses, colloquiums, seminars, talks by visitors, workshops, and conferences are often conducted at CMI. Every year, CMI organizes a fest called Tessellate. Stipends are also provided to selected students.

Almost everything about CMI.
Placements: Almost all the students are placed for master's batches. Since the Institute is a research institute, most of the bachelor's students opt for further studies instead of joining some corporate firm. It does not mean there are no placements or low placements for bachelor's students, there are very good placements for bachelor's students also. Taking the last years' data into account, the average package offered is around 15-16 LPA while the highest goes even beyond 25 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Adobe and other top financial firms as most of the students are from computer science and data science batches. Since most of the students are computer scientists and data scientists, the respective roles in these fields are offered.
Infrastructure: The campus has all the necessary and required facilities including but not limited to 24 hours open well-maintained library, a well-maintained 24 hours open computer lab with a good speed Wi-Fi connection. All the other facilities which are available in nearly all colleges are available here. Since the institute is located in Chennai, the food is not up to the mark as in North India but still, the mess provides good food to the students and the faculty members.
Faculty: Since it is one of the world's best Institute (at least, one of India's best institute) to pursue mathematical studies, all the professors are well qualified and are high-level achievers in their respective fields. The course curriculum is also relevant as it should be for students pursuing Mathematical studies. Mathematic students mostly opt for research but the students pursuing data science courses are ready to work in the respective fields.
