A central government medical college and hospital connected to the University of Delhi is located in New Delhi and is called Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC). It was founded in 1916 and is run by the Indian government's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. After being run by a governing body at first, an Act of Parliament in 1978 gave the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare complete control. Since LHMC is a government institution and receives funding from the Indian government, it can offer medical education at a lower cost than private colleges. Its dedication to public healthcare and affiliation with the government are highlighted on the official website.

According to NIRF 2021, Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), a prominent university in India, is ranked 22nd in the medical field. It was founded in 1916 and has a strong clinical exposure network through affiliated hospitals, as well as highly qualified faculty and excellent infrastructure. LHMC is known for its strong alumni network, emphasis on women's health, and rich history. However admission is extremely competitive, and there might be difficulties with the demanding academic program. Two things to take into account are the hostel's limited amenities and its singular focus on women's health. All things considered, LHMC, located in Delhi, provides a thorough medical education experience; however, this is contingent upon personal preferences and priorities.
