IGNOU B.Ed Courses & Fees 2025: Eligibility, Dates, How to Apply, Placements

Candidates must be pass outs of any bachelor’s degree and/or in the master’s degree in Science/ Social Science/ Commerce/ Humanities with at least 50% aggregate or have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with a specialisation in Science and Mathematics with a minimum of 55% aggregate. In the field of Education, IGNOU offers a B.Ed programme to students who've completed their bachelor's degree in any field. While the minimum duration to pursue B.Ed is two years, the maximum period allowed for completion is five years.

Candidates who are selected for admission need to confirm their seat by paying the course fee. Here are few things that students will recieve after taking admission in IGNOU:

• Once a students get admission into IGNOU, he or she will recieve the enrollment number and ID for future login to the samarth portal of the university.
• Based on the choice made by the candidate while filling the application form, he or she will then recieve the study material. Soft copy is available on the official website of the university. 
• Registered students also recieve a mail from the regional or study centre for counselling. It is an induction ceremony where the course is introduced to the students.
• A schedule of classes is also shared through mail. For any query regarding classes, students must contact their study centre.

Students who have applied for B.Ed, MBA or PB BSc Nursing must appear for the required entrance and check if they've qualified it. Followed by application, application fee payment and entrance, students who have completed their registration can check their status by entering their registration number on the IGNOU admission status page. The university also notifies students about their admission confirmation or rejection through an email and a text message in the next two months.

IGNOU provides study material in both online and offline mode. Students applying for admission can choose the mode to receive the study material. Students are not charged anything for the material. In case student opts for hard copy, they receive the study material by post within a few weeks of applying for admission. All the admission forms submitted via the Online Admission System are scrutinised and confirmed for admission subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria. These forms are processed region-wise on a first-come-first-serve basis. IGNOU provides study material to all the students pursuing a course from the university. The material is accessible to all the students irrespective of their location. While filling out the application form, students can choose hard or soft copy of study material. The study material is free of cost and aspirants only need to pay the course fee for admission.

Students need to submit assignments before the deadline given by the university. As per the information collated from web, If any student does not submit the assignment and recieves the hall ticket, he/ she can appear in the Term End Exam conducted by IGNOU University. However, the assignment section in the grade card will show 'Not Completed'. Assignments are an integral part of the curriculum because the same carry 30% weightage during evaluation. A student for clearing his exam needs 40%, assignments carry a significant weightage in academics. 

The course curriculum include subjects focused on Commerce field and related to the specialisation. IGNOU MCom in Finance and Taxation course is divided into two parts: courses offered with credits and courses to be studied as part of Chartered Accountancy final stage. As per a recent notification released by the IGNOU university, SC/ST students seeking fresh admission and re-registration to the July session of IGNOU admission are exempted from fee payment. Students willing to avail themselves of this facility must submit their applications online along with a soft copy of the documents required for the claim.

 It is compulsory to carry IGNOU ID-Card when appearing for the exam. However, in case a students forgets to bring the same, he or she can show an identity proof like Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, etc. Most of the exam centres accept identity proof in such cases but to avoid any kind of conflict, students must carry their IGNOU ID-Card along with an identity proof and admit card.

No, IGNOU does not ask students to pay the full fees in one go. The fee payment is done in two halves in a year. Candidates have to re-register in order to pay the fees. The fee payment can be made online. Candidates should keep the fee payment receipt with them for future references.
