IGNOU BSc Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IGNOU BSc is offered in seven specialisations and BSc (Hons) across two specialisations along with a PB BSc Nursing course. All these courses have a minimum and maximum duration of three and six years, respectively. For the IGNOU BSc course, a credit system is followed for all its courses. One credit is equal to 30 hours of learners' study time. To earn a UG degree, a learner has to earn 132 credits in a minimum of six semesters (three years) with 22 credits per semester.
The BSc students can also apply for IGNOU scholarship schemes. To avail of a scheme, the student must meet the respective criteria. More details regarding Indira Gandhi Open University BSc course are as follows:

Students need to submit assignments before the deadline given by the university. As per the information collated from web, If any student does not submit the assignment and recieves the hall ticket, he/ she can appear in the Term End Exam conducted by IGNOU University. However, the assignment section in the grade card will show 'Not Completed'. Assignments are an integral part of the curriculum because the same carry 30% weightage during evaluation. A student for clearing his exam needs 40%, assignments carry a significant weightage in academics.

Certain programmes are not allowed under the simultaneous registration. Students are advised to visit
the official prospectus for the same. Additionally, there will be no change in the counseling/ assignment submission/ examination schedule in case dates for the above clash for the courses in which a student has taken admission.
Students who have applied for B.Ed, MBA or PB BSc Nursing must appear for the required entrance and check if they've qualified it. Followed by application, application fee payment and entrance, students who have completed their registration can check their status by entering their registration number on the IGNOU admission status page. The university also notifies students about their admission confirmation or rejection through an email and a text message in the next two months.

STEP 1: IGNOU BSc Application Process 2025
The IGNOU BSc and BSc (Hons) application process is completely online. Candidates willing to apply must visit the official website and apply. A step-by-step process of IGNOU application is as follows:
Step 1.1: Visit the official website of IGNOU. Click on 'Register Online and then on 'Fresh Admission'.
Step 1.2: In the next window, select ' Click here for New Registration'.
Step 1.3: Register online by adding all the required details.

The selection for admission to the PB BSc Nursing course is through the OPENNET exam. Admission to other courses is carried out on a merit basis. No, for admission to PB BSc nursing at IGNOU, students are required to apply and appear for a written test conducted by the university followed by a counselling session.
