Yes, your son can easily appear for ongoing JoSAA 2026 counselling and the choice-filling process. However, to get a seat on IIT, your son must score 75% aggregate in the 12th CBSE for the general category, and for SC/ST/PwD, the score must be 65%.

IIST admission is open only to specific courses for the academic session 2026. The college has admissions open for Btech, as JEE Main is ongoing for session 2. No, candidates can not take direct admission at IIST. The institute offers only entrance-based admission into different UG and PG courses. The college accepts score of entrance exam such as JEE Main, JEE Advance for BTech. The college accepts score of GATE for MSc or M.Tech admissions.

Candidates applying for BTech at IIST should have passed Class 12 in Physics, Chemistry and Maths with at least 75% aggregate score (general/OBC) and 65% for reserved category. They have to qualify JEE Main and JEE Advance and participate in counselling for seat allocation.
