Indian Maritime University (IMU), Kolkata was recognised as a central university in the year 2008, under the Ministry of Shipping, GOI. Admission to UG and PG courses is done on the basis of cut-off in IMU-CET entrance examination conducted by the university. Admission criteria for B.Tech. Marine Engineering is minimum of 60% marks in PCM and minimum of 50% in English in 10+2 and have qualified IMU-CET. Admission criteria for M.Tech. Students seeking admission to the Indian Maritime University (IMU) Kolkata BTech programme should meet all the selection specifications that are predescribed by the university. The following points are to be met by the students to be eligible for the admission to the BTech:

• Students must have passed their class 12 with minimum of 50% aggregate. It is also compulsory for students to achieve 60% average marks in the Physics, Chemistry and Maths collectively.
