Q:   Can I become a lawyer after completing my LLB?
A: 

No, After completing LLB you become a lawyer, however, you are still not an advocate and hence cannot practice law. To become an advocate and to practice law as a profession, you mandatorily need to clear the All India Bar Examination (AIBE). After qualifying AIBE, one can practice law as a full fledged profession. 

Q:   Can I start a law practice without a Law degree or become a lawyer?
A: 

No, you cannot become a lawyer without a Law degree. You mandatorily need to obtain degrees such as BA/BCom/BSc/BBA LLB or LLB in order to be a lawyer in India. To become a lawyer, one must first complete three-year or five-year LLB from a recognised university and possess degree certificate. Then, they must enrol themselves in local Bar Council of the concerned state and enrolled as an advocate. Within two years of the enrolment, they must appear and clear AIBE in order to be eligible to practise anywhere in India. 

Q:   What is the application fee for applying at IIULER Goa?

The fees for UG programs at IIULER Goa include an admission fee of INR 16000, campus development fund fee of INR 12000 and tuition and programme fee of INR 6,20000 per year. Additional charges apply. For PG programs, the fees include an admission fee of INR 21000, a campus development fund fee of INR 12000 and tuition and programme fee of INR 4,90000. Various other fees are also included. Hostel accommodation. Additional facilities are optional and charged separately.

IIULER follows a tiered fee system on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in xam. If you secure a top rank between 1 and 5,000, your annual fee is discounted to INR 4,28,122. With the increase in ranks, the fee also goes up! For example, ranks between 10,001 and 15,000 pay INR 4,76,750, while those ranked 20,001 to 30,000 pay INR 5,62,000. For ranks 30,001 and above, the fee is INR 8,01,000. This structure makes a premium, international-standard legal education more affordable for students with high academic merit.

IIULER BA LLB (Hons.) fee is "all-inclusive". It covers the Tuition and Programme Fee, along with specialised charges for Library access, Computer and Internet usage, and Study Materials. Additional charges include Sports and Games, Student Welfare, and Amenities fees. A Moot Court Fee is also a part of the fee structure to provide access to top-tier training facilities.

Q:   What is the difference between the syllabus of Andhra Pradesh LAWCET and the syllabus of CLAT?
A: 

Both the AP LAWCET and CLAT entrance exam are conducted for admission to the Law schools in India, however, the syllabus for these exams are different on many parameters and candidates should strategise differently for both the exams. AP LAWCET exam has sections including Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Contract Law, Constitution, etc. and the CLAT entrance exam sections include English Language, Legal Aptitude, Mathematics, etc. AP LAWCET does not have mathematics subjects, AP LAWCET exam focus more on regional knowledge. CLAT generally covers the deeper aspects of the particular subject. 

Q:   What happens if I am allotted a IIULER BA LLB (Hons.) seat but don't pay the INR 20,000 confirmation fee?
A: 

If you fail to pay the confirmation fee within the deadline specified by the Consortium, your IIULER BA LLB (Hons.) seat will be forfeited. You will be removed from the subsequent counselling rounds, and the seat will be offered to the next candidate on the merit list.

Q:   How does the "Goa Quota" work during the IIULER BA LLB (Hons.) counselling process?
A: 

To claim 20% Domicile Reservation as a Goan in IIULER BA LLB (Hons.), select the "Goa Domicile" category while filling out your CLAT application. You would need to upload a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Goa government. This quota also entitles you to a significant 40% tuition fee waiver.

IIULER BA LLB (Hons.) application window opens around November or December and stays open until April or May. Please start checking the official portal around October so you don't miss the announcement. Applying early is better, as it allows you more time to prepare for the entrance test.
