Q:   What are the fees for LLM programmes at NLU Lucknow?
A:

As of my last update in January 2022, the fees for the LLM programme at National Law University (NLU) Lucknow varied based on several factors, including domicile status (Uttar Pradesh or non-Uttar Pradesh), whether the candidate falls under the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), and other university policies.

For general category students not from Uttar Pradesh, the approximate fees for the LLM programme at NLU Lucknow ranged between INR 1,50,000 to INR 2,00,000 per annum. However, these fees are subject to change and could be higher for non-reserved categories or applicants from outside Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh domicile students, especially those falling under reserved categories, might benefit from reduced fees due to state government subsidies or fee waivers offered by the university. The exact figures may vary, and it's advisable to check the latest fee structure from the university's official website or contact the admissions office for accurate and updated information for the current academic year.

Additionally, NLU Lucknow might also have different fee structures for sponsored candidates, NRI candidates, or those admitted under specific quotas, so applicants should review the specific fee details applicable to their category or circumstances.

Q:   How much is CLAT application fee?
A:

The application fee for CLAT exam was different as per the category of a candidate. For General/OBC/PWD/PIO/OCI/NRI, the application fee was INR 4,000 and for SC/ST/BPL category, the application fee was INR 3,500. Extra charges of INR 500 were applicable if candidates wanted to obtain previous years' CLAT question papers from the exam authority. Apart from CLAT application fee and cost of question paper bundle, candidates had to pay any other charges.

Q:   Is pursuing LLM at RMLNLU Lucknow expensive?
A:
The LLM course offered at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University is considerably cheaper compared to most of the law colleges, such as NLSIU Banglore, NLU Delhi, etc. The total fee of the LLM course amount is INR 55,000 and entails tuition fees and all charges. The above amount may change, as the information is sourced from the official website. Hence, it is less than most of the other top law colleges. However, RMLNLU can be considered one of the affordable options to study law.
Q:   Is there any one-time fee for LLM at RMLNLU?
A:

Yes, RMLNLU charges a one-time fee for the LLM course. There is a one-time payment after the selection of candidates, which is INR 20,000, including admission fee and caution deposit refundable in addition to the tuition fee that has to be paid annually. However, the aggregate amounting to INR 35,000 sums up to INR 55,000 as course fees for the LLM course. The above-mentioned fees are subject to revision. Hence it emanates from the official website/sanctioning body and is inductive.

Amazing infrastructure and facilities, a beautiful swimming pool, and a great campus.
Placements: Approximately 85% of students from the LL.B. programme and 93% from the LL.M. programs were placed. The highest salary was 18 LPA, and the average salary was 7 LPA, but there is no information related to what the lowest salary was. Top recruiting companies are Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB and Partners. No data available for students who got internships, and the top roles include legal associate, legal manager, and legal office.
Infrastructure: Our college has a beautiful campus with spacious classrooms and an air-conditioned library that provides access to legal books as well. We have a football team, a tennis court, a basketball court, a volleyball court, and a multipurpose hall that includes a badminton court along with other sports like chess and ludo. Additionally, we have an Olympic-sized swimming pool staffed with lifeguards and a coach. The cafeteria offers food that is better than any other university; we have four meals a day, with a night mess available during end-semester examinations. There is also a dispensary and a canteen on campus.
Faculty: Although the curriculum is quite relevant and prepares students for the industry, the faculty at RML can be quite lazy, leading to frequent class cancellations. As a result, students often have to complete the syllabus on their own. Students in the 10th semester may have only 1-2 classes, which sometimes does not reflect the fees we are paying. The semester exams are manageable, with a pass percentage of approximately 98%.
Other: Students preparing for government exams or other tests often find they have plenty of time due to the frequent class cancellations, with total class time amounting to just 4-5 hours per day. The annual fest is a lively event on campus, and the campus itself is beautiful; the new VC is working hard, and the changes are quite noticeable.

Why to Opt for RMLNLU Lucknow?
Placements: As per the data released by NIRF, there were 102 students who got placed in the year 2023. There were all of the tier-1 law firms who were there for recruitment, such as Trilegal, Luthra and Luthra, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, etc. The minimum position to which you will be assigned in your course is associate.
Infrastructure: We have fully equipped infrastructural facilities such as Wi-Fi, 24-hour power supply, fully air-conditioned classrooms, and libraries, etc. Although we do not have ACs in our hostel, we can use coolers freely. We have our classrooms equipped with modern teaching facilities like smart boards, etc., which enhances the teaching experience.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful and approachable. They will have your doubts easily clarified if there are any. The teaching quality is good; almost all of the teachers are Ph.D. holders and have published their books in legal parlance. With respect to the semester exams, I would say they are easy to moderate, and the passing percentage is 40 percent out of 100.
Other: In our batch, there are 180 students, and the majority of them want to go for judicial services exams, and it has been a trend every year. As I wanted to go for judicial services, I chose this course because it is all-encompassing and covers all of the major law subjects that are part of judicial services exams. There are several fests that keep on happening every year, and two are major: Riwaayat and OHR. The connectivity is good as the campus is just 500 meters away from the market area.

The campus and faculty are great.
Placements: The school's ranking is not very good. Only 20 to 30 people are placed in the university each year. However, many students have secured a place through their previous placements. Students go to law internships, work there and get a place. Most students are preparing for judicial and civil service.
Infrastructure: The most important thing which I like about my College is the Infrastructure, which is nice. Very good sports facilities and gym. Best library in UP. The food provided in the hostel is decent compared to the price that is charged. The meals provided are vegetarian however one can take non-veg on certain days by paying a small charge.
Faculty: The university teachers are very qualified. They know that this course is held regularly and the teacher-student ratio is good. There is 1 teacher for every 30 students. Some highly qualified professionals have completed their education in foreign institutions. Some professors have written many textbooks and books. The teachers at the school are very supportive and every student can go to a teacher for help, whether it be academic or any other support the student needs.

Review of NLU Lucknow (RMLNLU) - Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University.
Placements: I was from the COVID batch so I could not have the first two years of college experience, and after coming to college, it was overall a decent experience. Also, the environment of the hostel is very good. We had a great batch, no restrictions are there inside college hostel.
Infrastructure: Some of the teachers are very supportive and good but 25 percent of them have let down the college name. Also, the college culture here is regressing with time. I don't think it's going to be in the top 10 law colleges in the future. Lot of reforms are needed here.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are good, but some 30-40 percent are letting the college down; not so supportive they are. My experience was not good with some of them. Also, the examination pattern here is bad, what I personally feel. Also, no uniform or attendance is taken nowadays.

Beauty in the City of Nawabs: RMLNLU.
Placements: Very less percentage, around 10 percent, were placed. The highest package is 15 LPA, and the lowest is 8 LPA. Khaitan, Tuli and Co., etc., are the top companies. Legal Associate is the top legal position which is offered. Internship that students land is quite less among the students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent for the college premises. The library and computer labs are well-equipped, and classrooms are teach-enabled and spacious. The facilities in the hostel are not up to the mark; the rooms are a little dilapidated, and the mess food is pathetic.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are good while others are below par, especially in their teaching methodology. The course curriculum is relevant for the industry standard and is good for seeking recruitment. The semesters are easy to crack owing to the repetitive nature of examinations.

Review of NLU Lucknow (RMLNLU) - Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University.
Placements: Very few percentages were placed last year, and the highest was around 13 LPA. People are placed in networking only through individual connections. The college administration is lackluster in providing a good platform for placement companies to come and take students.
Infrastructure: The college has 2 spacious boys' hostels and 1 for girls' hostel, with boys' hostels having single rooms since the 2nd year. The college campus is beautiful and picturesque, with great buildings erected for the sake of student curriculum. The mess for boys is pathetic, according to Sharma ji.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are extremely helpful and approachable; however, the others are not so good in either their knowledge or their teaching style. Yes, the course curriculum is good, especially for government exams, and the difficulty in semester exams is very low.
