Indian Law Institute Admission Process 2025
Indian Law Institute (ILI) admissions 2025 are entrance-based. The institute offers degree, diploma, and certificate programmes to aspirants in the Law stream at postgraduate and doctoral level. Aspirants are offered admission to the Master of Law (LLM) programme offered at ILI based on their performance in the Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test (ILICAT). This law entrance exam is conducted at the national level.
Candidates are eligible to apply for admission to the Master of Law offered at the Indian Law Institute Delhi if they have secured at least 50% aggregate in their LLB degree. Also, aspirants should have pursued their graduation degree from any college/institute/university that is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). After clearing ILICAT aspirants need to appear for Viva-voce in order to secure admission in the Master of Law offered at the Indian Law Institute.

Indian Law Institute Fees & Seats 2025

Indian Law Institute Seats Reservation 2025

Steps for Indian Law Institute Admission Process 2025
Indian Law Institute Delhi admissions are entrance-based. The admission process starts with filling out an online application form and ends with document verification and fee payment. STEP 1: Indian law Institute Delhi Application
To get admission to ILI, aspirants must apply online. The application process is conducted in an online mode.
STEP 2: Selection Rounds
Admission to LLM and PhD courses at ILI is entrance-based. Candidates are offered admission based on a valid Indian Law Institute- Common Admission Test score. Whereas, for the Postgraduate Diploma course, direct admission is offered to students based on their last qualifying examination. Further, other selection rounds such as Viva, Interview round, etc., are conducted by the institute for the final selection.
STEP 3: Release of Merit Lists
After the commencement of all the selection rounds, the institute releases the merit list in various rounds. Only those students get selected for the respective courses, whose names appear on the list.
STEP 4: Final Admission
After the release of the merit list, pay the admission fee in online mode and visit the admission office for the verification of the final documents. The final admission will only be given after the completion of the prescribed requirements.

Indian Law Institute Application Process 2025
Aspirants can fill ILICAT application form in either of the modes- Online or Offline. ILICAT application form needs to be attached with a Statement of Purpose (SoP) and aspirants can submit this form either in-person or by Registered Post/ Speed Post/ Courier/ Messenger such that the application form is sent to the 'Office of the Registrar, Indian Law Institute, Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi', as per schedule.

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Indian Law Institute, is perhaps one of the oldest educational institutes in Delhi. It was established in the year 1956 and since then has come up in a big way. Now it has attained the status of deemed to be university and hence awards it's own degrees. It's more famous for research oriented curriculum for almost all the courses. This Institute offers 1 year duration LLM. The total intake for this course is restricted to just about 39 seats. The total tuition fees for the year works out to be about ?1.4 lakh. The only eligibility criteria it has is that the student must secure at least 50% marks in the graduation examination. For seeking entry in this course there is no entrance examination but the seats are filled up only based on merit of the candidate.

Indian Law Institute Scholarship 2025
- Merit Scholarship: The Institute awards scholarships of INR 30,000 per year to the first two students admitted to the first year of the LLM degree programme, based on the merit of the All India Admission Test. Three payments will be made for the scholarship: one at the time of admission, two at the time of first and second semesters results, and a third after that. Scholarships will only be awarded to students who maintain a good record in their research projects submitted while enrolled in classes and earn a GPA/CGPA of 'A' or higher in university exams.
- Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: The Institute may reimburse 50% of the student's tuition to assist worthy, needy students studying the LLM programme.
- Gold Medals to Meritorious Students: Students with the highest CGPA and /or course grades will receive the Gold Medal. Students must have completed all courses in a single try within the minimum amount of time required in order to be eligible for the Gold Medal.

Hello Nishar Ahmed, a very interesting query indeed. Unfortunately there is an answer and there is a confusion. Let me explain. Indian Law Institute located in New Delhi in front of the supreme court premises, is a very specialised Institute which conducts post graduate courses of the label of certificate post graduate degree and also doctoral studies, all related to law. Out of these courses the certificate courses do not until any entrance test. Admission is based purely on the marks obtained in the graduation examination. However for 1 year duration LLM available under multiple streams and also for giving admission for a doctoral programs this Institute conducts an all India common admission test. Institute talks of cutoffs only as an eligibility condition for students who want to appear for this entrance test or those who want to enroll for certificate courses. This condition is that the student must obtain 50% marks in the graduation examination. There are no cut off marks prescribed for passing of the common entrance test. However based on the number of vacancy is in different categories of students the institute calls these students to Delhi for an interview or viva voce. Combination of the marks obtained in the entrance test and this interview then determines the merit of the students and based on this merit list admissions are given.
