Indian Law Institute Placement FAQs

Q:   Does Indian Law Institute offer better placements than NLU Delhi?
A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, as part of reforms in the teaching of law, many National Law Universities were set up. One in each state. The concerned state government funds these universities and hence their fees etc. are very minimal. However, these have made a name for themselves in a very short period. As a result of this, many top-notch recruiters come to these NLUs during placements season. As far as the situation in Delhi is concerned, NLU, Delhi placements often fetch higher median salary as compared with Indian Law Institute, a much older establishment. For example, in case of LLM students, median salary is about INR 6LPA in ILS while it's about INR 10LPA in case of NLU Delhi. A similar situation can be observed in the case of law graduation students also. So if you want to join an institution where during placements, students get higher median salary, you must join NLU Delhi.

Best wishes to you.

Q:   What are the career prospects after completing LLM from Indian Law Institute?
A:

LLM is a postgraduate degree in legal studies or law. One can pursue this after completion of his Bachelor of Law or LLB. Whether a student passes his LLM from Indian Law School or any other college or institution offering this course, the opportunities are indeed staggering. One can start working in a law firm by assisting an established lawyer. Different firms hire law graduates or law postgraduates to assist them in many legal matters that the firm has to deal with in their day-to-day affairs or even while dealing with their International partners. After getting the bachelor's degree there are plenty of specialisations in which one can do LLM. For example, cyber law, international law, intellectual property law, housing, criminal or civil law, etc. when a student has passed out of a very prestigious college like Indian Law Institute then plenty of companies will come forward to higher the student's services. ILI also enables students to take up practice in law immediately after passing out. In a nutshell, we can see that opportunities are plenty. The sky is the only limit.
