IGKV is one of the top colleges of CG.
Placements: Everyone has entered college through competitive exams from rank 1st to 500th. The highest package is in crores and the lowest is in thousands. Mostly, students get government jobs. 50-60% of students get placed. Roles like professors, scientists, researchers, etc., are offered.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in every wing. There are classrooms with a projector and a big library. The quality of the food in the mess is eatable. The canteen is excellent. There is a dispensary within walking distance and a big sports complex. This campus also has 3 auditoriums for extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Teaching quality is average for some professors. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. The exam difficulty level is moderate. The passing mark for each subject is above 35. Since it is a main campus, the exam level is not easy.
Other: I chose this course because my stream is Agriculture. The best thing is that it is teaching so many new things. Nothing should be improved. Internal college competitions (Madai), an annual function, Krishi Mela, etc., are conducted. Our college invites farmers and provides them with basic knowledge.

There are not as many placements in IGC anymore as there used to be.
Placements: IGKV had a placement cell that helped students find jobs in government and private companies. The college offers placements in the agriculture sector, including seed and fertilizer companies, agro-based companies, and more. Placement companies were Tokita Pvt. Ltd, Syzenta Pvt. Ltd, Bayer Pvt. Ltd, and Byer Pvt. Ltd. The salary package offered ranges from 2 LPA to 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: IGKV had a good infrastructure, including hostels, a library, and a canteen. Campus was also equipped with sports facilities and a dispensary. IGKV had two hostel buildings, one for girls and one for boys. Campus was developed to accommodate more hostels. Students could apply for hostel rooms through the DSW office.
Faculty: They offered variety of programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. degrees. The curriculum included courses like agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, and more. IGKV also offers research opportunities and hands-on training. M.Sc. courses included agronomy, entomology, floriculture, forestry, fruit science, genetics, plant molecular biology plant pathology, plant physiology, soil science, etc. Ph.D. courses included agricultural meteorology, agricultural microbiology, agricultural statistics, agricultural business management, agricultural economics, agricultural processing and food engineering, etc.
Other: Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) offered variety of scholarships and funding options. Some of these included National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarship for students with disabilities who were pursuing professional or technical courses. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship for Ph.D. scholars in the field of cooperation. Post-matric scholarship offered to those students who were from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes. Fellowship for Ph.D. was for students who were also receiving scholarships or fellowships from other organizations.

The university is good if you are eager to learn agriculture.
Placements: I pursue Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (2021-2025). The course offers learning in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Statistics, etc. Placement: There are no placement offers by the university. Internship: No internship program offered by the university.
Infrastructure: There are various facilities available. In every department, Wi-Fi is available, as well as classrooms and labs in every department. There is a library in the college named "Nehru Library" with thousands of books available. 5 boys' hostels and 4 girls' hostels are available separately. The food quality is average to bad, but in the canteen, good quality food is available. The university has one dispensary for faculty members and students, a big ground for games, and also a gym available for students.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful. The teachers are knowledgeable, but their teaching quality is not good. Some teachers give their full effort to teach and they are helpful. When I was in 1st year, the course curriculum was not relevant because 70% we learned only theory and 30% only practical. In some subjects, we learned only theory instead of practical. But when I was in the final year, a new education policy was launched, and new students can learn 70% practical and 30% theory only. This can make students industry-ready. The semesters are intermediate, not very difficult, and the passing percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in learning modern agricultural techniques. At the field level, we can apply learned techniques to increase production without disturbing the environment. Every year, a Youth Festival is organized at our university. There are 3,000 students attending the university. Scholarships are provided by the government, and merit scholarships are also given by ICAR.

Good for studies and the loving people and teachers, but the food quality was so bad.
Placements: There is no percent criteria; we gave the exam of Pre-Agricultural Test for admission. Marks are not so important. The highest package was approximately 50 to 60 Lacs, and the lowest was 4 Lacs annually. Students with 7.5 CGPA got internships as food safety officers.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, sports, and games are available in college. The hostel rooms were nice, but the food was not so good at all. The mess was not clean, and the doors and windows of the hostel could be broken easily because they are of very low quality. Overall, it was good.
Faculty: The passing percentage for the college is 50% of marks in every subject, including the practical paper. The education was good but not so great. It helps you to find a job, but you can't think about a great package. Some teachers are good, but not all. Sometimes you observe a lack of knowledge.
Other: I'm studying in an IGKV-affiliated college. The name is CARS RAIGARH, and the college was good. The practical knowledge given there is great, but the food in the mess was so bad. The doors of the hostel are made using very low-quality wood.

This is a government college because the fees are low.
Placements: The facility for campus placement is not available. Some students are going to pursue a M.Sc., and others are preparing for government. Exams like RAEO, Forest Officer, etc. Sometimes campus placement is done by university authorities, and in campus placement, local companies are invited.
Infrastructure: Labs, practical equipment, Wi-Fi, a digital board, and a library are available. We also have a canteen at our college. Facilities in our hostel are average. Broken doors, unhygienic toilets, low spaces, beds, and abandoned buildings are there. A water cooler and purifier are not available.
Faculty: All teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable, but some are very strict. Our final semester is dedicated to gaining practical knowledge. 50% is the passing mark, and the semester exam level is moderate. The exam security level is very high. A sheet barcode system is used to keep student IDs secret.
Other: I chose this course because it is trending and related with farming .

Agriculture studies are a waste of time, and do not have opportunities.
Placements: Top roles offered in my course were agriculture development officer, assistant professor in allied disciplines of agriculture like horticulture and agronomy, and rural agriculture extension officer. Top recruiting companies are VNR, Syngenta, Agriculture Insurance Company of India AIC, and more. The highest salary package offered was 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college provided good library. Infrastructure and hostel facilities were up to the mark. The quality of food served in the mess and canteen was up to the mark. Classrooms were well-equipped with modern-day learning and were teach-friendly and innovative.
Faculty: Teachers were knowledgeable but they rarely took classes properly. Teaching quality was not up to the mark. There were various teachers who did not know much about their own subject. The course curriculum was relevant but it did not make the students industry-friendly. Practical courses should be added.
Other: The students should be a little more cooperative as well as the staff here was non-cooperative and rude to students. Teachers should be more disciplined and take their jobs seriously.
