B.Com (Hons. ) Banking & Finance at Kalinga University: My Experience
Placements: Around 40% of the students in my course get placed. The highest package offered is around 10 LPA, the lowest package is around 2 LPA, and the average package is approximately 3.6 LPA. Some of the top recruiters include ICICI Bank, Judicial, Polycab, and Axis Bank. Around 70u201375% of students get internships in companies like TCS and Deloitte. The top role offered in my course is Financial Analyst.
Infrastructure: My department has Wi-Fi, classrooms with fans and coolers, and access to the library hall. Commerce students do not require many labs, but there are Tally and basic IT labs available whenever needed. Bus facility is also available for students. I do not live in the hostel, so I cannot comment on the hostel facilities. The canteen food is around 7/10. There is a basic medical room on campus, and sports tournaments are usually held once every one to two years.
Faculty: The teachers are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good for most faculty members, except one or two teachers. The course curriculum follows the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and includes subjects like Meta Skills, which help students develop soft skills and become more industry-ready. I am not sure about the overall pass percentage, but the semester exams are fairly difficult. The highest CGPA in the batch is usually around or below 9.0.
Other: I chose this course because I have always been interested in finance and the stock market. The best thing about this course is that it is not limited to one field. You can use your commerce and financial knowledge in hospital, engineering companies, corporate firms, and many other industries. I don't think any major improvements are needed. Kalinga University offers scholarships based on Class 12 marks and entrance exam scores. Connectivity is around 4/10 since Raipur is about 30 km away. A major fest is held every one to two years, along with smaller events throughout the year.
