The University conducts its own entrance exam for all the PG level courses except MBA. For Kannur University admission to MBA, candidates must hold a valid KMAT/ CMAT/ CAT score.

Kannur University BCom admission is subject to fulfilment of the preset eligibility criteria. As per the official brochure, aspirants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria before applying for admission:

• A pass in the Higher Secondary Examination of the state/ Class 12 from any recognised board/ any other examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto;
• Candidates from Non-Commerce streams must have scored at least 45% aggregate in the qualifying examination

Kannur University offers a Diploma in Tulu which is a one-year course. The course duration is further divided into two semesters. The university conducts classes for the programme on only on Saturdays. Over one year, there are 200 teaching hours in total. The medium of instruction and examination is Kannada. The course curriculum includes learning about the history and literature of Tulu. It also includes a project work which can be carried out as field work or desk work. A written project/document must be submitted to the University at the end of the second semester. The project is evaluated by an external examiner. 

As per the available information, getting a direct admission at Kannur University is not possible. BSc admission at the university is subject to fulfilment of the specified eligibility and selection criteria. Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on their Class 12/equivalent exam merit. The university also follows a strict seat reservation policy while allocating the seats. Even the candidates seeking BSc admission under the Management Quota are required to fulfil the preset admission criteria. To get into Kannur University for a B.Tech program, you need to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination in Kerala or an equivalent examination. You also need to have a minimum aggregate of 45% in 10+2. You can also consider taking the KEAM exam. 

The eligibility criteria for the scholarship for deserving and meritorious students from financially weaker sections is a minimum of 60% in class 12.
