Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, also known as LUVAS, is a public university located in Hisar, Haryana. LUVAS was established in 2010 in pursuance of the Haryana Act No.7 of 2010. LUVAS Haryana was named after the great patriot, the foremost freedom fighter, and an ardent social reformer, Lala Lajpat Rai.
The university was established with the incorporation of 2 constituent colleges of the CCS Haryana Agricultural University, namely, the College of Veterinary Sciences and the College of Animal Sciences. Currently, LUVAS offers affiliation to 16 colleges in the state of Haryana.
