Madurai Kamaraj University is a well known University in Tamil Naidu. It was founded in the year 1966. The rank given by the NIRF 2024 in University category is 63 rank. Awarded the second rank by the HRD Ministry of India in the "SWACHHTA" Ranking of Higher Educational Institutions in the Country.
It comprises of 20 schools that offer over 44 PG, 40 MPhil, 57 PhD programmes, and 17 diploma/ PG diploma/ certificate courses. Admissions to all MKU Madurai courses are both merit and entrance-based. The university offers various UG, PG, MPhil, PhD, and diploma courses through its 20 schools in various streams, such as Natural Sciences, Tamil studies, Arts, Management studies, and others.
The UG courses are offered by more than 100 colleges of the university, while the PG courses are offered by different departments of the university itself.

The exact scores required in TANCET exam vary according to the year to year. Madurai Kamaraj University cutoff 2023 for the MBA course is based on TANCET MBA scores followed by round-wise counselling. Also, the university offers admission through various affiliated colleges. Candidates seeking admission to Madurai Kamaraj University MBA course must have a valid score to be eligible for further rounds. As per the TANCET cutoff 2023, the TANCET score for Fatima College stood at 6942, whereas for Nadar Mahajana Sangam S. Vellaichamy Nadar College it was 6276 and Senthil Kumar Nadar College Virudhunagar it was 5855 for the MBA courses.
