    Government Medical College, Nagpur insights.
Placements: I am in the 2024 batch in MBBS. Our college has a 4.5-year course and 1 year of internship where we get a stipend of around Rs. 20,000. During this internship, we get to learn new things and then after MBBS you can give PG and then get paid there in MD.
Infrastructure: The hostel fee is Rs. 4400 per year for everyone, and it is a very small fee. Wi-Fi is not working currently but in the library, there is Wi-Fi. The library is good with AC working in it. The classrooms have just been renovated with AC and better benches to sit. The canteen and mess are available in the hostel only.
Faculty: Teachers have at least 20 years of experience. Here, professors are government professors who are very smart and experienced. They have so much knowledge. To pass this exam, you have to give it at the end-year university test, with a 50 percent passing criteria.
Other: I am from the 2024 batch, and I will graduate in 2029. I have done an internship and a degree too.

Everything about my college is average, but after 3-4 years, it will get better like a campus.
Placements: Only 200 seats are available in the MBBS course out of the 25 percent of students who appear for the NEET examination. The stipend offered is Rs. 15,000 per month for internships after 4 years of MBBS. Almost all students get internships in my college. MBBS and B.Sc nursing are the courses offered in my college. MD is also offered here.
Infrastructure: Construction is ongoing, and it is hard to rate now. The campus will be good after its completion. The campus is not too big, and it spans over 40 acres. All hostels are new, like boys' hostel, girls' hostel, and the new residential hostel. Classrooms are new, and the hospital is also new. But for now, it is average.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and perfectly qualified for their jobs. Teaching quality is just good if we compare it with other colleges. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are difficult, and exam papers get checked strictly. The pass percentage is 50 percent out of 100.
Other: Many events take place here.

Great, can be considered in good colleges with low fees compared to others.
Placements: Most of the students are eligible for government medical seats as medical officers in rural areas, and a few go for the NEET PG exam to secure an MD in various branches. MBBS is the most expensive course, and medical officers generally earn up to 80k per month, and after PG, more can be learnt.
Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms are good, college is old, so not that shiny infrastructure and Wi-Fi facility for hostel is not available, and quality of food at the mess is decent, and games like volleyball, cricket, and football are played regularly. Recently, they built turf for us.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and are experienced, teaching quality is great. Semesters are slightly difficult, and the pass percentage is 40 percentage for theory and 60 percentage for practical viva exams. College is good in terms of academic curricular activities.
Other: Fees are lower, and events are also held.

Good institution, good teaching faculty, cultural event, has good facilities and a green campus.
Placements: We have a batch of 200 students. Actually, no direct placement after the course is provided, later NEET PG is to be given by the students, and then doctors can opt for government or private practices according to. Almost everyone goes for medical practice after course completion.
Infrastructure: Most of our college infrastructure is old, continuing from 1987 (established year), but renovations are going on in many departments. The hospital has many facilities that are required. About hostels, the actual condition is very bad, 4 people in a room, and buildings are very old, leakage and bathroom blockage occur on multiple floors. These need renovation. We have a central library that's new and a very study-focused place. Mess food is also good.
Faculty: Faculty is very nice, and all the teachers teach enthusiastically. Every staff member is very knowledgeable and qualified, and trains us students to become the best version of ourselves and to treat our patients in the best way. Semester exams taken are at the same level as the university takes exams, and 50% is the passing percentage, with 75% attendance criteria for eligibility.
Other: My dream was to become a doctor, which is why I chose this field, and I love treating patients and communicating with them. Better clinical postings may improve students' credibility and skills. Events and academics are well balanced here, and many academic events are also conducted, as well as cultural events.

    Academic excellence and MBBS journey.
Placements: In my passing batch, around 60 percent of students are able to get placed through campus and hospital recruitment initiatives. The highest package offered is close to 22 LPA for some who join private multispeciality hospitals. The lowest is around 7 LPA for jobs in smaller clinics and rural hospitals. On average, most offers range between 10 to 15 LPA, especially for those choosing clinical roles in urban centers.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our medical college is pretty good. It definitely makes academic life smoother. As for the hostel, rooms are basic but comfortable. They offer the essentials like a study table, chair, and built-in cupboards. Dining facilities are satisfactory. The mess serves fresh meals with a rotating menu. So you don’t get bored of the food easily.
Faculty: Faculty at TNMC Nair is considered highly experienced and supportive. Most professors are specialists in their fields and approachable for help outside class hours. The MBBS course at TNMC Nair runs for 5.5 years, including a one-year compulsory rotating internship at the affiliated B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital.

Decent facilities, experienced faculty, and strong clinical exposure for MBBS students.
Placements: In MBBS, there are no corporate placements as seen in engineering, but all students undergo a compulsory internship after completing the course. Practically 100% of students get internship opportunities since they are allotted in the same or affiliated hospital of the college. During an internship, students are posted in Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Community Medicine, and other departments where they gain hands-on clinical experience. Many students also prepare for NEET PG or next examination during internship to pursue higher studies. After completion, some graduates join as Junior Residents, Medical Officers, or work in private hospitals/clinics.
Infrastructure: Our college has well-equipped lecture halls with projectors, demonstration rooms, a dissection hall, and clinical labs. The library is spacious with sufficient books, journals, and Wi-Fi facility. The attached hospital provides good patient exposure for practical learning. Hostel facilities are decent with clean rooms, 24/7 water and electricity, and medical support within the campus. Mess food is average but hygienic, and sports facilities like cricket, football, and indoor games are available. Overall, the infrastructure is satisfactory for both academics and hostel life.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified doctors and subject experts who are helpful and approachable. Teaching quality is good with regular lectures, demonstrations, bedside clinics, and case discussions. The MBBS curriculum is designed by NMC and is highly relevant for medical practice, preparing students for internship and postgraduate entrance exams. Semester exams are moderately difficult but manageable with regular study, as theory and practical both are given importance. The pass percentage is usually around 80-90% with most students clearing in the first attempt. Overall, the academic environment is supportive and exam-oriented.
Other: I chose MBBS because of my passion to serve patients and build a career in healthcare. Best part about the course is the clinical exposure from early years, interaction with patients, and the satisfaction of learning skills that directly save lives. College fests, cultural programs, and sports events make the campus lively apart from academics. I wish the mess food quality and hostel maintenance could be improved a bit. More extracurricular activities and research opportunities would also add value. Overall, the course provides a balanced mix of academics, practical learning, and campus life.
