My journey started from MMDU.

Placements: Mechanical Engineering placements here are okay. Not as high as in computer-related branches, but students who are skilled and consistent do get placed. Around 60-70% of students manage to get jobs, mostly in core industries, manufacturing units, or sometimes in IT companies too. The highest package ranges from 8-9 LPA, and the average package ranges from 3-4 LPA. Internship opportunities are also available in areas like production plants, design firms, and automotive companies, which help a lot with real-world experience.

Infrastructure: The university provides good infrastructure. Mechanical labs are well-equipped for practicals like thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and CAD. Classrooms are neat and have proper facilities. Wi-Fi works well across the campus, including in the library. The library has a good collection of technical books and is a nice place to study quietly. The mess food is vegetarian, but better than what we usually find in private colleges. It is clean, decent, and served fresh.

Faculty: Faculty members in the Mechanical Department are experienced and helpful. They teach from basics and are willing to solve doubts if we ask. They make sure concepts are clear, and many of them have industrial knowledge. The course content is industry-relevant. We learn about design, thermal engineering, and manufacturing processes, and use tools like AutoCAD or SolidWorks, which are useful for practical work. Semester exams are not too tough if we study regularly. Passing is not a big issue, but if we want to score well and keep our CGPA high, we need to put in good effort.
