

MIT WPU PhD Eligibility & Highlights 2025
MIT WPU offers a full-time PhD programme in 28 specialisations. A few of the PhD specialisations are offered in collaboration with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). Candidates, satisfying the eligibility criteria, need to appear for the PhD Entrance Test (PET), conducted by MIT WPU as per the UGC guidelines. Further, shortlisted candidates need to appear for an interview/ viva-voce round. For the final selection of candidates, a weightage of 70% to the entrance test and 30% to the performance in the interview/ viva-voce is given. However, UGC-NET/ CSIR NET/ SLET/ GATE-qualified candidates and teacher fellowship holders or those who have passed MPhil are exempted from PET and are directly called for the interview round. In order to qualify PET, a 50% score (45% for reserved category candidates) is required. The syllabus of PET consists of 50% of research methodology and 50% is subject-specific. In order to get admission to MIT-WPU, Pune BTech course, candidates need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria, i.e., to pass Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with a minimum of 50-60% aggregate in the PCM group. Admission to this course is completely entrance-based. Aspirants are required to appear in either JEE Main/ MHT CET/ PERA CET entrance exams. Admission to BTech at MIT-WPU, Pune is purely based on a valid score of candidates in the respective entrance exams and their past academic scores. Further, shortlisted candidates also have to submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) of minimum 500 words.
However, those who seek admission to BTech Bioengineering course, must have passed Class 12 in Physics and Mathematics as main subjects and Biotechnology as optional subjects. The candidates for this course are selected based on NEET UG scores.
