Candidates aspiring for admission to NLU Lucknow must have a valid score in CLAT in order to be eligible for admission through the CLAT Counselling. As of now CLAT Round 1 Seat Allotment has been released for NLU Lucknow. NLU Lucknow offers B.A. LLB (Hons.), LL.M. (One year), and PhD programmes. For B.A. For LLB admission, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised Board, and LLM admission requires B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)/B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.) degree of RMNLU Lucknow or LLB five years or LLB.three years degree of a recognised university. 

The application process for PhD and PG Diploma courses is conducted on the official website of NLU Lucknow. Whereas, for admission to BA LLB and LLM courses, candidates must register for CLAT exam at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The registration process is common for all UG & PG courses. To get admission to NLU Lucknow, candidates must go through a multi-step selection process. For admission to UG & PG courses such as BA LLB and LLM, candidates must apply and qualify for CLAT exam. Further, for admission to PhD course, the university conducts RMNLU Writtent Test. After the commencement of all the selection rounds, candidates are notified through merit list. Later on, the shortlisted candidates must pay an admission fee to secure their seats.

Admission to the LLM programme at RMLNLU are currently closed. Applications are accepted based on the CLAT PG scores. The CLAT PG test was held on December 7, 2025. Candidates seeking admission through the CLAT PG test have to satisfy the eligibility in terms of admission, where candidates must have an undergraduate law degree with at least an aggregate of 50%. Thus, the above-mentioned dates are tentative and as per the official website.

RMLNLU Lucknow Cutoff 2026 was out for Round 1 for admission to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programme for students under the All India quota. The Round 1 closing cutoff rank for the General AI students was 747 for the BA LLB (Hons) course. For the same category, the Round 1 closing rank for Master of Law (LLM) course was 290, indicating that the competition for this course is higher than the BA LLB (Hons) course.

The applicants are systematically admitted to the LLM programme at RMLNLU. Candidates have to first register and apply for the CLAT PG, which is the requisite test that allows them entry into the institution. After the declaration of the result for CLAT PG, candidates shall look for a cut-off list released by RMLNLU. Candidates who will meet the cut-off shall be considered for counselling. Upon selection, candidates have to complete the formalities related to admission and deposit the prescribed fee.

Yes, LLM is available at RMLNLU. It is a full-time, one-year course and is designed for people looking for higher legal education. For admission to the LLM programme offered at RMLNLU, candidates have to qualify in the CLAT examination and also meet the eligibility criterion of having a recognised undergraduate Law degree with an aggregate mark of 50% or above. It nurtures profound knowledge and practical competencies in students in various aspects of the law, leaning toward different career prospects within the profession of law.

The cut-off closing rank for RMLNLU LLM in the General All-India category dropped to 277 in 2024. In comparison, the previous year's closing rank was 101 in 2023 and 108 in 2022. RMLNLU LLM CLAT Cutoff is released for every round of seat allotment. The closing rank is finalised only after the last round of counselling. The candidates should have a valid score in CLAT and meet the eligibility criteria; for this, the candidates must hold an LLB degree with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Yes, though there is no separate application fee for applying to RMLNLU students must pay application fees to register for the CLAT exam and counselling process through which students are selected. 
The CLAT application fee is INR 4000 for both UG and PG level admissions. This fee can be paid online through Net Banking.

After the CLAT 2025 Revised Result, Round 1 seat allotment has been released by RMLNU Lucknow. Aspirants would have to decide whether they want to accept, revise or withdraw from the seat allotment process before the final date for the new counselling registration round gets over. Those who want an upgrade will be required to pay a confirmation fee to secure their seat at the institution.

The CLAT 2025 admission process, which is completely online, will be concluded after 5 rounds. The process included registration, merit list result and then the seat allotment process according to candidates' preferences. Candidates have the choice to either accept, upgrade or exit from their assigned seat at any counselling rounds. For those who accept their assigned seat, they can then pay the counselling and admission fee as needed to complete their admission process.
