PU UGLAW Exam Pattern 2026: Panjab University will release the exam pattern for the PU UGLAW 2026 on the official website, uglaw.puchd.ac.in. The exam will be conducted for admission to the BA LLB and BCom LLB courses offered at the University. The exam pattern for the PU UGLAW exam will comprise the number of questions to be asked in the exam, along with the division of questions in each section. The exam pattern for PU UGLAW 2026 plays an important role while preparing for this entrance exam as it will also highlight the important topics to be covered for the exam. The PU UGLAW entrance test consist of Current Affairs & General Knowledge, Aptitude for Law, English Language and Mental Ability. Candidates will be asked around 100 questions divided in these sections.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in PU UGLAW 2026?
A: 

PU UGLAW 2026 entrance test has MCQ type questions. These quesions are asked from four subjects, namely, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Aptitude for Law, Mental Ability, and English Language. Based on these subjects there will be four sections in the question paper of the exam. Candidates will have to answer all these questions within 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes). There will be a total of 100 question in the question paper. 

Q:   What will be the medium of the PU UGLAW question paper?
A: 

The mediums of the PU UGLAW exam question paper will be three languages: Punjabi, Hindi, and English. This means the questions in the question paper of the PU UGLAW exam will be in three languages: Punjabi, English, and Hindi. However, the English section of the question will be in the English language only. Thus, candidates who opt for Punjabi or English as their medium to take the exam will have to solve the English section in the English language. The PU UGLAW exam is conducted in the three languages mentioned here because it will allow candidates from all regions of India to apply for the exam.

Q:   What is the marking scheme for the PU UGLAW exam?

The marking scheme of the PU UGLAW exam explains how the marking criterion based on which candidates' performance in the exam is being evaluated. The PU UGLAW marking scheme is mentioned below: 

1 correct answer = +1 mark

1 incorrect answer = -0.25 or - 1/4 mark

1 Unattempted answer = 0 mark

There will be a total of 100 marks in the PU UGLAW exam question paper. For each correct answer, candidates will get 1 mark. If answer a question incorrectly, you will receive -0.25 mark (-1/4) mark. Thus, 4 incorrect answers will lead the dedution on 1 mark in the PU UGLAW exam. If you skip a question or do not answer it, you will lose any mark

PU UGLAW Exam Pattern 2026: Instructions

Candidates looking to appear for the PU UGLAW 2026 exam must adhere to the following guidelines on the exam day:

  • Use the black ink to mark your answer in the OMR sheet 
  • Candidates may use black gel pen or ballpoint pen
  • Each question will have 4 choices
  • For the rough work, space will be provided in the end of the question booklet
  • Log tables will be provided at the exam hall.
  • Candidates have to hand over the question booklet and OMR sheet to the invigilator after the exam is over.

Q:   What are the minimum marks to pass the PU UGLAW 2026 entrance exam?
A: 

The SC / ST / Backward Class / PwD category candidates need 10% marks and candidates from all other categories need 15% marks. The minimum qualifying marks for each category is based on the category-based reservation criterion. There will be total 100 question in the exam carrying 1 for mark each. Thus, SC / ST / Backward Class / PwD category candidates will have to achieve 10 marks to pass the PU UGLAW exam. However, General category candidates need 15 marks to qualify for the exam.

Q:   When will the PU UGLAW 2026 admit card be released?
A: 

The PU UGLAW 2026 admit card or the PU BA LLB / BCom LLB entrance exam 2026 admit card will be released on the official UGLAW exam website of the Panjab University - uglaw.puchd.ac.in a few days before the exam. Candidates will have to download their admit card before the exam date. The PU UGLAW 2026 exam will be conducted in offline mode at exam centres in Chandigarh. It is mandatory for all candidates to carry their admit card to the exam centre on exam day. Without the admit card, they will not be allowed to appear in the exam. They also need to carry an original copy of their Aadhar Card/ PAN Card / Passport.
